Menopur Symptoms

Hi, I have stumbled across this site an decided to join.

So I have been trying to have a family for about 5 years. I am on menopur for my second fresh transfer coming up.

Last time I was on menopur I didn't have too many symptoms apart from feeling bloated and tender. This time round I tend to feel everything.

Yesterday I felt massively bloated, I looked 6 months pregnant and my ovaries felt massively full, I couldn't get comfortable no matter what I was doing. Today I don't feel much at all and I am worried that... I dunno my eggs have just decided to release or something. Does anybody else symptoms on Menopur fluctuate like this?

Hi R0sy

How long have you been taking the menopur for and when are you due your scan? How many eggs did you get last time and how many follicles have they counted this time?

I guess each of us react differently and also at different times.

It could be a great sign that you have lots of follicles responding to the drugs?

Anyway, I would call the clinic and ask them as it may influence the timing of scans etc.

Wishing you amazing luck xx

Hi Camillage,

Thanks so very much.

I have been taking the menopur for 7 days. I had a lot of symptoms at first but not as many today. I had a blood test yesterday and they told me to keep taking 2 viles of powder each night. I get another blood test tomorrow and my scan should be on Monday. They are monitoring my follicle growth through blood tests.

Last time I got 14 eggs, 9 fertilised and were good quality. I won't know until I go for my scan how many follicles I have.

Egg collection is meant to be at some point next week, depending on my eggs. I am over analysing everything this time round.

xx

Of course you are. We all do and it's only natural. The fact that any of us are here on this forum shows that we are habitual googlers and need the forum for our sanity (well, I am generalizing everyone based on my knowledge and experience of me there so not really fair on everyone else ha ha).

You got loads of eggs last time and if you have been keeping a great diet and maybe even more prepared this time then you could feasibly have more this time?

Can you ask them to do the scan tomorrow when you are there? Tell them the symptoms you have been having and your concerns.

Xxx

Lol. I am terrible when it comes to over analysing. The main reason I joined here. The buserelin I am taking has been making me really anxious this time round. I just went with the flow the first time.

I don't think they would scan me tomorrow if I asked as I am not showing any symptoms of OHSS, they are pretty good at looking at your bloods and knowing where you are. What I can do is speak to one of the nurses about the symptoms I am having and see what they think.

Hopefully my body is responding the same and I will get just as many if not more eggs this time. Fingers crossed.

Quality not quantity remember :-)

Hope it all goes well tomorrow and they are able to put your mind at ease. Xx
