Back and lower abdo ache early pregnancy

Hi ladies,

Got our BFP this morning, over the moon but not long before the worry set in! This evening I have had lower back and abdo ache with occasional cramp. Period type you could say but more achey, not agonising but intense enough to make me want to just lie down in bed.

No bleeding but I am on progesterone pessaries (additional to natural cycle), seems to settle when I’m led in one place but when I get up and about I notice it more again.

Have trailed through Google and the usual could be normal could not be and I know no one can tell me what it is but just looking for some positive outcomes with similar symptoms this early on in pregnancy.

2 miscarriages previously so can’t help but think the same is going to happen this time 🤦🏽‍♀️

Thanks in advance x

I’ve been having similar symptoms. I’ve just blamed it on the pessaries and the oestrogen tablets. I would try not to worry and will just suggest to take it easy and get your hubby/partner to treat you special. Xxx

Thank you! I do think about the pessaries, it’s just so hard not to associate pain with something bad isn’t it! Feeling better now I have just led in bed for the past few hours. The husband is pretty special himself and is very attentive, currently sorting my work uniform as I totally forgot to put them in the wash today! Have you got a date for your scan yet? I’ve been given September 1st xx

I’m glad that your hubby is super supportive. Omg tweensies! My scan is on 1/9 too! It’s in the evening and I don’t know if I can wait that long haha 😆 xxx

Aah brilliant 🤞🏽🤞🏽 13 days to go and counting! Mines at 12:00, gosh yes a evening appointment feels so mean doesn’t it 😂 we will get there and hopefully it’ll be here in no time! Xx

Ahh I’m off work at the minute and I’m waiting constantly for it to be the 1/9. It’s mad. I took another test today just because I was worried I was miscarrying. It came back pregnant 🤪. My husband thinks I’m going mad 😂❤️

Pregnancy after infertility and miscarriages is terrifying you are bound to analyse every thing. I know I did with my 2 year old daughter Francesca! I had twinges with her spotting too and this pregnancy ( 13 weeks) I've also had had 3 early miscarriages and a loss at 20 weeks so I'm also still very nervous. Twinges are very normal part of pregnancy- it is where your uterus is stretching as the embryo grows and is a good thing! It is only if they are very painful and accompanied with heavy bleeding should you be concerned. I panicked feeling them with Francesca! The wait is definitely very difficult between positive test and viability scan ( I had one this pregnancy and one at 9 weeks as I had recurring miscarriages) Hoping you can find nice things to do to help the time pass! Every pregnancy has been at this early scary point but so many do survive and become little babies! Wishing you the best with your pregnancy Xx

Hi Mai94 how are you now? I’m having really bad constant back ache and just constantly worrying I am going to miscarry (had a very early one last year) this is my first round of ivf and successful. It feels so precious and I’m driving myself mad worrying x x

I totally understand the worry, currently 12+4 weeks pregnant with twins abs so far both measuring almost a week ahead and doing well so my aches must have been them getting cosy! Good luck honey fingers crossed it’s the same for you x
