Hi, just a quick question I’ve been bit by a bug and was wondering if I can take an antihistamine for the swelling?

Antihistamine during 2ww

I think it’s a no for antihistamines, but best thing you can do is ring you GP.
Ok great thanks. Unfortunately we are abroad on holiday and the chemist just wasn’t understanding when I mentioned ivf (language barrier). I will just suck it up and hopefully swelling doesn’t get worse.
I was given cloraphenamine antihistamines ( Piriton) when I was bitten by an ant when I was pregnant last summer. That was from the doctor. You can but it over counter. My bite turned into cellulitis and got really nasty, to a point when I needed strong antibiotics, so get it seen to quick hun. They told me your body reacts differently to bites when your pregnant I was surprised a ant bite could cause so much trouble!! Xx
I took antihistamines throughout my pregnancy. That was under the instruction of my immunologist who said there was no risk. In fact I was having desensitisation immunotherapy throughout and there was no issue.
That's not the same as affecting implantation though I know.
Maybe you can get a topical cream that gets into the blood supply much less so wouldn't affect anything anyway.
