Heavy lifting during 2ww

Hi guys, just wondering what’s the background to the advice against heavy lifting during 2ww or early pregnancy. One clinic I’ve been to advised specifically against this but the other one hasn’t mentioned anything about it. Is it a thing or an old wives tale? And what about bending, I’ve heard advice against bending over but again don’t know if there’s anything to that.

My clinic just says carry on as normal basically but I'd air on the side of caution with heavy lifting xo

Thanks Cinderella, can only hope now right. How are you doing? You are one of a kind you know still out there helping others like myself despite going through your own pain. Xx

Hi Shirazlover. The 2ww is bad enough as it is, without worrying about lifting. Where possible, get someone else to do it, or at least to help. Good luck! Diane

Hi Diane thanks for replying, I was also wondering about the science of it or the background to why the advice is given. I hope you’re recovering well xx

Hi. When having IVF there is lots of tugging and pushing that goes on, best to let your muscles attached to your womb settle down without putting added pressure on them. Diane
