I wish it was morning sickness...

So had a wonderful 12 hours straight of throwing up and not keeping any fluids down with back pain. So rang my GP as NHS direct were concerned I wasn’t holding any fluids down and back pain = kidneys etc.

So I knew that every single person in my life would say ‘Are you sure you’re not pregnant’ . So I avoided saying what was wrong and when my husbands brother called I shouted if you say I’m ill tell him I’m not pregnant.

Even I thought it for a milisecond then told myself it wasn’t at 3am crying to myself over the toilet bowl (a slight low point 🙈). But I’m glad of the nurse on the phone for NHS direct who said if you have a fever its unlikely you are pregnant I’m sorry. Which then made me ready for the doctor to say my pregnancy test was negative.

But anyway, my real question is- I’ve decided to stop taking the Metformin as the doctor said I needed to come off it due to the vomiting. It took me a while to get up to my dose so I’m waiting for my next appt to see what is next. It hasn’t really worked for me anyway.

Did anyone else find that Metformin didn’t work for their PCOS?

Thanks

Sorry you’ve been feeling so rough and I agree it’s torture when your left with a bit of doubt and everyone assuming. I’ve been on metformin for 3 months now but these last few days Ive felt really nauseous and had the worst upset stomach (sorry tmi) I wondered if it was a bug, I thought if it was the metformin I’d of experienced this when I was first started it but now I’ve read your post I’m not sure. Hope your feeling better xx

They think it was a bug but Metformin would make me feel worse so I’ve come off it. It did work for me initially, as in shortened my cycles. So there is still hope!

I just don’t want to go through the tolerating the dose stage again if I don’t need to. I was on it for around 8 months. It worked after around 4 months on my cycle.

Good luck xxx
