Hi ladies,
After a recent blood test, to say that we weren’t ovulating, we are to ring tomorrow to book our first ivf consultation appt and we don’t have the first clue! All feels very big and overwhelming right now... anyone shed any light?
Thanks!

Hello, the consultant will go through your medical history, discuss the type of protocol suitable for you and explain the process of IVF including its risks. I kept a sheet of paper in hand and wrote down questions which popped to my mind over time which we then discussed with the consultant. Good luck x
They’ll guide you through. Each clinic is slightly different but they know we are not experts so they’ll make sure you know exactly what to do at each step xx
You’ll be given information to take away and read and before we started we also had to do an ‘e-learning’ ivf module before signing the consent forms. I’d write down everything you are questioning and also talk to your partner because I found I went blank in the appointments and it was so helpful my husband then asking all the questions I’d asked him. Certainly don’t worry about he appointment xx
Wow, an e-learning module sounds both great and awful! We didn’t have to do this, we were left to do our own research before signing the forms though we had lots of opportunity to ask questions.
We had the same thoughts! Overall though I felt really informed after it, once you got past the basic how to conceive a baby blah blah (like we haven’t spent years reading that already!)! I felt very equipped going in but to be honest as soon as treatment started I feel like communication and support from my clinic has been pretty non existent. I feel so fortunate to find this place X
