Hi ladies, does anyone know if a hot bath is ok after retrieval and before transfer?? I’m desperate for a nice soak to chill out but hubby thinks he overheard a nurse telling someone not to? I know after transfer hot is a no no but what about before transfer? Thank you! Xx

My clinic advised not to have a bath after egg Collection until after test day I think it’s to reduce the risk of infection x

That rings a bell now! Honestly, I’m sure IVF brain is a thing... thank you X

Ivf Brain is definitely a thing! Buserelin lists a fuzzy head as a side effect (in posher doctor words) and sedation affects memory! Plus all the emotional angst.

No! I know it feels like the best thing you could do but the needle through your vaginal wall means all swimming/bathing/spa-ing is out for the next two weeks because of risk of infection into your little puncture wounds. It’s not the heat but the germs x

😂 this really made me chuckle. yeah as much as I’d love an Epsom salt bath to try beat the bloat pain - I’d rather an infection free vagina! She’s been through enough already... xx

I remember feeling the same, wanting to relax in a lovely hot bath but as Lizzie said.. no can do until you heal!! If unsure then phone your clinic tomorrow xx

You guys are right - don’t know why I couldn’t remember this! Wishful thinking maybe? Been so bloated a bath would feel so soothing! Thanks so much for saving me from a blissful bath but infected Foof! X

My clinic also said no to a bath prior to FET. Something to do with progesterone takes time to absorb and you risk washing it away if you have one (unless you do the pessaries up the back).

Think this one might depend on the type of pessary- loads of people on here seem to be on cyclogest but my clinic use ustrogestan vaginal and told me the active ingredients absorb within 20minutes... but they’re messy and I’m not sure that I’d want the residue in a bath or swimming pool with me!!!!!!!!! 🤣
