I have my frozen embryo transfer tomorrow, I’m feeling calm at the moment. I’m getting confused however the more I read about pineapple. I had some of the core today in a smoothie - but how many days after transfer should I have it? Should I have it before or after transfer tomorrow? Thanks in advance!

Pineapple on transfer day
Hey Stella, it's usually days 1-5 after transfer as its supposedly helps with implantation. I wouldn't be totally methodical about it, the enzyme will be digested in your body throughout the day so doesn't really matter when you have it on day of ET. You can obviously carry on after day 5 - it won't hurt. Just don't eat too much of it, as large amounts can have a negative effect xx
I have it days 1-5 and that includes transfer day xx
I heard someone say it's gross, doesn't it just taste like the rest of the pineapple or am I being stupid? I haven't done it before
The core is a bit like eating tree bark, it's quite tough!! 😄
Oh, that's got to be weird! So the pineapple you'd usually eat doesn't do the same?
The enzyme is just much more concentrated in the core. I think it's called Bromelain. There is still some in the fleshy bit but just not so much. I guess the core is where all the good stuff gets into the fruit when it's growing so probably why it's so concentrated. It needs to be fresh pineapple though, anything processed would probably have lost most of the nutritional value. I'm not mad on the core, it gets stuck in my teeth!
I agree with the texture comment 🤢 xx
I agree with the texture comment too! Hehe, not the best - but it's just about edible x
It tastes fine. Eat for five days including day of transfer. Wishing you lots of luck x
My doctor didn't advise me to eat pineapple..=( Now Im confused if I should eat some or not...=(
Jumping on the back of this post- can you put it in a smoothie to make it a bit more palatable?!
Heya.
I ate pineapple core for 4 of my 5 cycles...on my last one I didn't as i had had blood work which said I had no clotting or sticking issues. The core helps to thin the blood so unless you have any issues id avoid it. If this is your first cycle and you haven't had your blood looked at maybe eat it but just wanted to make you aware it may not be a good idea. Wishing you all the very best of luck xx
I had a slice of fresh pineapple (including core) every day from transfer to test day - and I just got my BFP! Who knows if it helped, but it def didn't hurt! xx
