No purfume or strong scents as it is toxic to embryos.
My friend and I are at the same clinic, I had transfer in September and was told no deodorant/perfume etc. but my friend had transfer yesterday and embrologists said deodorant is fine.... unless I knew for sure, I would go without. I didn't use anything scented at all in September.
I'm pretty sure I was told no scents on egg collection and transfer day. My clinic has posters everywhere saying it can harm the eggs, so not to have it on for any procedures. See what others say but might be safest to avoid. I was so paranoid for collection I refused to even use shampoo just wash in just water, that's probably a little crazy though.
Hiya, I was always told no perfume or perfumed body lotions etc for embryo transfer. To be on the safe side I went completely fragrance free, including anti-perspirant. Wishing you lots of luck for tomorrow. Hope all goes well for you xx
I know! Thank god I never saw anyone I knew 😂😂 💕 xx
I totally panicked last time as I had used very scented shampoo. I spent most of the day of transfer walking around outside hoping that the wind would make it less smelly. I also had scented deodorant on.
Hi Angharad24. Best not to use strong smells and smoke on clothes. Sperm especially hate it and eggs are not far behind! Try unscented, it still does what it says on the can! Good luck! Diane
I must admit I have always wondered this as all the nurses seem to wear makeup and I’m sure they must all wear deodorant 🤔 but I’ve always gone ‘au natural’ and then sprayed my deodorant after transfer! Xx
