hi all, i am 22 weeks + 1 day today but i cant feel my baby movement yet. Some of friends told me that they felt their first baby movement around 16w.I am lil bit worried. Does anyone experience the same late movement in their first pregnancy? Is it normal to feel the baby movement late?

I am 31 weeks now but felt just like you at this stage as everyone around me was like you should feel something at 18 weeks but do not listen to anyone if your worried talk to your midwife but I didn't feel much until 28 weeks onwards x x

Alot of my friends said that to me to but when I spoke to my midwife she said some first time mum's are 28 weeks onwards as they don't really know what to look out for X x

I didn’t feel anything until about 24 weeks, I used to get like a popping feeling but not often xx

I was about 25 weeks and due to having placenta on the front,a lot of movement was cushioned by that so i think i felt a lot less than those whose placenta is to the back x

Everyone and every pregnancy is different. The baby might just be in a strange position or your placenta might be preventing you from feeling movement. If your midwife says it could be 24 weeks before you feel something, then that's the person to trust!

I'm sure you'll feel your baby soon and it'll have been well worth the wait! :)

Hi Sabnon.18-22 weeks is the usual time to feel a tiny flutter with a first baby. Try not to worry, but if you are feeling scared, then speak to your midwife, who will order a scan to put your mind to rest. Hope all continues to go OK for you and a straightforward birth. Thinking of you. Diane

Hi there, I'm 27 weeks and only starting feeling him at maybe 24 weeks. I have an anterior placenta too so he has to kick through that for me to feel him, some days I don't feel much at all. Try not to worry. Everyone is different. Also, as its our first I think it always takes a little longer. :)

My nurse mention me that i had lower lying placenta? Does that mean anterior placenta?

No not necessarily. You should ask her though. Anterior means it’s cushioning my tummy so baby has to kick it rather than kick me, so is harder to feel. But if yours is low lying and anterior then it could be a factor x
