2WW & pessaries

These pessaries are killing me!!!! OK so that is a bit of an exaggeration, but the side effects...

1. Sore boobs - I mean really, do they have to be sore every day????

2. Tiredness - it is not like I've a house to clean, work to you know actually be awake for and a life to lead (I know that last one is wishful thinking just now lol) !!

3. Having to lie down after it for 30 mins twice a day. I am fed up lying blinking down!!!!!

4. Cramping - do you ever get used to that!

5. Wind - least said about that the better!!!!!!

And then trying not to symptom spot whilst all of that is going on - is anyone ever successful at that???

Rant over, thanks for reading lol!!! 🤣 xx

Do you definitely have to lie down? Which pessaries are you on? I’ve always had utrogestan vaginal and you don’t have to lie down with those.

Take lactulose for the pooping, worked with one dose for me. And is definitely safe during pregnancy and treatment x

I've asked the hospital and they have said I'm not allowed as they don't want my bowel inflamed, on prune juice but not getting very far x

Oh my clinic said it was fine , as it isn’t a typical constipation relief. You drink it and (this is gross so my apologies...) but it basically lubes up, and breaks up the stuff that’s getting stuck shall we say. Sorry if you already know all that, I just didn’t want you to miss out cause you thought it was like senokot or whatever cause I know they are not allowed. Xx

I'm going to ask them before I leave after ET, hopefully they will let me have something xx

They’re a joy aren’t they? 🤣 It’s my first time using them. Always had crinone gel before which gave me disgusting discharge, so I don’t miss that.

It is a nuisance having to lie down. I did try not to one evening and the blasted thing shot straight down again into my pants as soon as I stood up!

I’ve had the most horrendous wind too, really awful. Will have to start blaming the dog for the aroma 😭

Also finding it a bit sore having to insert them since ET. New consultant that did the procedure was a bit heavy handed with the speculum, ouch!

When we get our BFPs it’ll have been well worth it. So much luck to you xxx

I will definitely not be standing up before my time is up then 🙈. If only I had a dog, I mean it is ridiculous 🙊. Not good about the consultant at all, I can only imagine 😐 I'm finding it a bit sore now too after a week of using them, but fingers crossed for us both 🤞💕 xx

I just blame my husband. He farts so much anyway that he barely notices whether it's left his bum or otherwise 😂

Ladies in feeling your pain .. these pesetries are horrid. Trapped wind is causing me alot of pain also . I hope we all get out BFP results . I had the 2 days aftet ET cramping after but no blood wotsoever .... progesterone side affects can cause alot of pregnancy signals. Been the longest hardest 8 days of my life . Xx

I’m on cyclogest and yes it’s has side affects 🤦🏻‍♀️ You only should lie down if you insert them from front,I use them from the back and I found it easier.no discharge or spotting. My dr said I can use both way, work the same. Unfortunately you have side affects as long as you use them. Good luck xx

I have all of the above and i have blammed it on the dogs. The tireness is hellish as my DH has 3 lovely kids but they cause alot of mess including a naughty little dog who ate my neices sweets who slept over last night. This post made me smile i have 7 days left to wait now until test. Its hard not to think into all the symptoms too much. My DH convinced its worked and its hard to know what to feel at times. I have a slight underactive thyroid so just started taking tablets for that so again all these symptoms. I had a 4BB transfered with 3 frozen. Im so bloated im up a full dress size even my winter coat feels tight now 😦 good luck everyone. X

Haha this is hilarious!! I took my last cyclogest yesterday after 8 weeks of them and it’s a massive relief! 100% with you on the lying down for 20 mins, and the wind 🙈😂 the things we go through hey! Wishing you all the best x x x

Mine was feet up for 30 mins... so lie down if poss but certainly put legs up. Morning and night time were easy... lunch time at work not so much! I was on cyclogest. AND THE SIDE EFFECTS ARE EVIL!

Good luck! xx

I’d already had 3 weeks off! So I spent two weeks at work nipping to the loo and then sitting across two chairs! x

Yeah it's a barrel of laughs isn't it? 😂

I have all of the above too but cramps I'd usually experience anyway.

With the symptom spotting I learned ages ago to ignore everything unless it's strikingly different. The only thing I have when pregnant and not at any other time is a metallic taste in my mouth, so if I have that then I can feel a little more confident the other things could also be due to pregnancy

Hi, unfortunately I’m a bit of s pessary pro now. Here’s some things I’ve found useful .....switching between front bum and rear bum every few days ! They’re not particularly nice in either but it gives the front a rest if you’re feeling sore. Take lactulose for the constipation, works pretty quick, and is safe during treatment and pregnancy. And I also do my pessaries at bed time so I’m laid down anyway, my clinic said it doesn’t matter what time you do them aslong as they are roughly 24 hours apart so this would solve the lying down issue, unless you are on two sets a day ? .... if that’s the case I really feel for you, two a day is bad enough! X x
