I really want to. Hubbie needs to feel we’ve tried everything for own genetic child first, but agrees that sperm/egg donation is not for us and it will be adoption if we haven’t fallen pregnant by July (time set due to my 40th birthday). I really feel we have so much to give a child.

How did you find the approval process? Did you wait 6 months after your last Ivf before starting the adoption approval process?

Hi. No we got to start earlier. The process was actually fine just frustrating as lots of delays with social worker. Im in Scotlandwhere it takes twice the time as england xx

Hi Lorraine. It took us 13 months from initial visit to approval. In scotland it takes twice as long as england! Xx

Congratulations! The great thing about this is that you have a definite outcome now, you will be a mummy! The uncertainty that comes with ivf is unbearable so sure you will be glad to close the door on that now. Enjoy xx

Fantastic news. I hope you get a match quickly. We're currently in the 6 month wait before we can apply in June. They won't compromise on that in our local authority

Good luck!! We were told it is usually a 6 month wait but as we d bn through a counselling session and had only done 1 cycle the sw passed us. They asked about it at panel xx

I know. I hated all the fertility stuff we were on waiting list for icsi for 2 years . As soon as we decided on adoption ive never looked back! Xx
