Congratulations and good luck on your journey !

It can be a bit of a long process while they vet you but throughout rewarding

I hope to be able to adopt at some point too

Also call your local council for adoption open days and charities that work with them for.more information. They usually have regular info evenings

They'll be able to give you all the info and experience with local protocol too

Hi Abbie. I live in Scotland where it seems to take longer than in England. We were 21 months from initial visit to child coming home. In England i know people who have done it in 9 months!! We havent had to pay 4 anything. Sometimes u need to pay 4 ur medicals we didnt. Legal fees should be covered by your local authority. Im not sure about agencies however. We also get a fostering allowance until ouradoption is finalised. Good luck!x

Thanks for the info i really appreciate it.

Hi. Not sure where in England you are but in our region it takes approx six months from starting stage one if there are no delays. You also need to have stopped any fertility treatment for six months before you can start the process. It is a very intensive process and you have to be truly committed to adopting but worth it x
