I start injecting this Thursday and starting to feel very nervous! I’m interested to know what side effects people experienced? I’m aware of all the severe ones but wondered what is most likely? I’ll be working for the first week and not knowing how i’ll feel is making me feel more anxious!
Thank You xx

I was sniffing for 3 weeks then started injecting for my final week.
I was very low whilst on the sniffer. But felt so much once I started the injections. Good luck, once you’ve done the first one it’s not as bad as you think xx
I have always found the down reg drugs the worst for side effects and you’re doing a short cycle so you won’t need to down reg, so hopefully you won’t suffer with much x
Good luck for Thursday. I always felt really lousy during down reg but when I started the injections I always felt a good deal better. I had Menopur for three cycles and occasionally the injection was really stingy and uncomfortable at the injection site for 30mins or so afterwards. Hoping you manage ok xx
My first cycle (fresh) was short protocol. I found that stimming (no down reg for that cycle) was ok until near the end when I literally felt like a big bug full of eggs! It felt like I could feel my ovaries and I was so physically tired and emotional. I can look back on it and laugh now. You’ll be ok, you’ve got this 💪🏻 xx
That was me two weeks ago! I am on short protocol and took my last injection last night (trigger shot) and due for EC tomorrow. Main side effect I had was bloating (I was on Gonal F and Cetrotide). Drinking plenty of water helped that and sometimes I felt a little tired. But nothing that stopped me continuing with my fill time job and everyday activities. Good luck! It all goes very quickly!
Oh how exciting! Thanks so much! I’ve had a few flickers of excitement today. Best of luck to you for tomorrow, sending lots of positive vibes. Would love to hear how you found it when your ready? xxx
Thank you! I'm happy to share more. I have found talking about it all has helped me to keep positive about the whole process. I also confided in my manager at work. I thought it would be alot easier to explain the sudden appointments and potential side effects I might experience through the treatment. I understand that it's not easy for everyone to tell their managers but if you have a good one it does help. Good luck with your first injection. Like the others say, no way near as bad as I thought it would be. It cured my phobia of needles!
I am actually starting a new job next week too. I keep toying with whether to tell the new manager as it would be my first day like ‘hello and btw I’m currently doing an ivf cycle’ equally I think keeping it secret would make me more anxious. Not the best timing but I don’t want to put the cycle off so will get through it! It’s so nice hearing from people who just ‘know’ how this all feels. I really appreciate you reaching out xxx
I had very sore, swollen boobs and had a but of lower back pains towards the last few days of injections. But it was all very manageble and I could still go to work as normal
I’ve just had transfer on my first cycle. It was a lot better than I expected. I didn’t really have any symptoms apart from a couple of days of hot flushes before I started the stim injections (the flushes were from the down reg). By comparison I did two months of clomid and had a horrendous time. But these have been fine. Wishing you all the luck and baby dust xxxx
It doesn’t feel real to me yet even 3 injections down.. so far so good though. So exciting your a couple of weeks ahead of me! Hope all went well? Have you got plans to distract yourself the next 2 weeks? Wishing you lots of luck too xxx
