Hi all, I had my first set of tests & biopsy at Coventry end of last year, and other than a “robust lining” (97th percentile), Prof Brosens didn’t see anything to treat. He explained this could change month to month and so we should re-test another cycle, to see if consistent. Totally understand & agreed.
Off I toddled, hopefully & gratefully, 2 1/2 weeks ago and had the 2nd biopsy & bloods. They explained 4-6 weeks for the tests, as before. On Thursday this week, I emailed for an eta for the appointment and was told same thing - test taking up to 6 weeks & appointment to follow. Then within an hour or two, received another email, saying my virtual appt with Professor Brosens is this Tuesday, just under 3 weeks since the biopsy.
Of course now trying to tell myself that’s expedited as I chased and not because of bad news….
So for anyone that’s been there, I know I’ll get matter of fact feedback and a written report, but at this stage I’m not sure what I should be prepared for, or questions to ask. I feel really grateful for Tommy’s, this clinic, and that I can pay for these tests, and don’t want to miss my chance to extract all from this expert.
My wonderful friend credits Coventry / Warwick with her daughter after many many losses so I do have faith. And I guess I’m still hoping they say there’s a magic pill that will help me conceive naturally, even at 42! We can’t afford IVF or maybe not in the UK & I don’t know if the teams abroad recognise the possible recommendations.
I’m whittering. As ever, grateful for any suggestions to get the most from this time

I got my results within 3 weeks also. I think they cover themselves by telling patients it can take up to 6 weeks, usually knowing that the results will likely be back sooner. FYI my results were absolutely fine so there was no treatment suggested so try not to worry about your appt being expedited.
Whatever the outcome for you, you’ll handle it and it will help shed some light either way. If the tests reveal all is good then that’s some reassurance. If the tests show something then hopefully that’s something that can be managed. Either way it’s a big step forward!
If the tests show nothing then do ask Prof if there are some thing he might recommend given your history for the next pregnancy, eg aspirin, blood thinners etc. Let him know that IVF may not be an option for you due to finances so you want to do what you can. As you know he’s very approachable.
thank you Elmo13 - I think my exact worry is he will say there's nothing wrong, I'll be dumb-founded, time will tick on, and I'll have a great report but won't have asked anything in my time slot. Like us all I guess, nervous to know, but keen for answers. May I ask what you tried next if all was ok?
I’ve not yet done another cycle since the results. But I did have some miscarriage blood testing done after my last miscarriage which showed I have a tendency to clot so had been advised to take blood thinner injections for my next cycle.
I think the timing of response varied, first one took ages, and second one was very quick. The time slot with him is only about 15 mins so use the time wisely, I wish I'd reminded myself of the tests they were doing and what the outcome could be beforehand so i was ready to ask questions. Best of luck ✨
thank you Trytryandtryagain84 - I guess that is part of my fear - that they've not found anything - ofc, that's good but also no answers - and that I'm stunned by that and don't ask anything. Can I ask what you wished you'd asked in case I've not yet? All the best <3
