So today we had our follow up meeting. Diane’s questions really helped me to feel I had gotten as much as I could out of the meeting and really made me realise how clueless I was at the start of this!
So it seems OH’s sperm count is detoriating (he has been on anti biopics and they’ve said it could be this) but the dr has suggested some supplements he can take to help this - along with other lifestyle changes. I’ve been told it’s up to me I can start with this cycle or wait another month for OH to get some vitamin supplements working for him. I’m 40 so I’m keen not to wait really but am I being silly pushing on with the next cycle.

I think I remember reading in a Zita West book that it takes 85 days or something like that for sperm to reach maturity. Just wondering would one month be sufficient time for the vitamins to take effect?
I think the idea is if one postpone for another month by the time we come to egg collection he would have had three months almost on the tablets by that time.
Oh yes, that makes sense. Hoping that these changes will help. It might be nice for your body and mind to have a bit of a break from the stress of it all too. You can recharge and be ready to give it all you’ve got again. Sending you lots of luck x
Do they think sperm quality is the main reason you haven’t fallen pregnant naturally in the past? If so then it would probably be worth waiting one month.
My clinic likes women to have a 2/3 month wait between cycles anyway and said you can get fewer eggs if you go again too soon, so maybe that extra month might benefit you too?
No we are having ICSI anyway and my husband was on antibiotics in Oct so they think this may have reduced sperm quality this time around. We have had up until now unexplained fertility and no one can understand why it’s not happening naturally.
