Hi everyone hope everyone is getting on ok on this stressful journey!! I had my egg retrial on Tues I got a fab 16 eggs I was over the moon as I egg share so 8 each!!!!! The next day the lab phoned to inform me 7 had fertilized!! Then yesterday she phoned and said 6 had divided into a 5 cell and grade 1/2 so top embryos I was so so happy!! Now I'm suck there gonna ring me this morning and let me know how they r coz I'm suppose to be having transfer today or tomorrow coz my clinic is shut on Sunday! So that wud only make it a day for transfer but I would still have to pay the full amount for extended culture!! So I'm thinking I'll have it done today with the strongest one if one shows it self today!! Has anyone else experienced this I feel so worried and stuck xx
I'm stuck a day 3 or a day 4 transfer - Fertility Network UK
I'm stuck a day 3 or a day 4 transfer
Presumably if you have transfer they’ll still do extended culture for the other embryos as it sounds like they will be able to become Frosties? So from that point of view it will be worth it?
Thanks for ur reply were not going to freeze any due to the cost which I am a bit gutted about just bad timing!! So here's hoping it works xx
I ended up doing a day four transfer on a Saturday as my clinic was closed on Sunday’s. But they did leave the other embies to grow until blastocyst however unfortunately the grade was too low for them to be stored.
Hi thanks for u for ur reply were on our way now to the clinic decided to go today as it's day 3 and 1 was at a 12 cell grade 1 and the rest at 9/8 grade 2 so thought we'd do it now with the better one!! We're not freezing any!! 😐😐😐 what grade or cell do they need to be to freeze?? Xx
Well I guess in any case you can insist on any grade being frozen but the clinic didn’t recommend the lower grade ones were frozen as it was highly unlikely to result in pregnancy
I believe they have to be grade 2 or above to freeze.
I guess maybe you feel differently about spending the money on freezing if you already have a child and have been a good responder to the drugs, as you clearly have been! In my situation I would freeze (actually have to this round as they have to test the embryos) but I’ve never had the option. I think it’s completely your choice though. I’m really glad to hear that you have a top quality embryo going back and hope it sticks- it will be better in you than in a Petri dish xxx
I am lucky and I know it to have a baby already!! If i had the money I 100% would we had a family member that needed some treatment and we helped towards that so it wasn't an option!! I'm just keeping my finger crossed for this one!! I 've had it done it was the hardest thing this morning having to just get rid of the others I'm been a wreck!! But I can only do what I can do and I would love to donate the rest but my partner wouldn't do that!!! It's one big emotional rollercoaster!! I wish u all the luck and I'll be thinking of u!! X
If you don’t want to freeze them, have you thought about donation xx
Have you thought of transferring two embryos then? Cos I feel it will be good to maximise your chances
