Pain before ET

Hiya,

I had my EC on Monday, obviously came home feeling very uncomfortable. Tuesday wasn’t so bad. Then yesterday, after feeling pretty good, I went out for some lunch and started getting intermittent sharp standby pains around where my ovaries are. This would come and go and carried on for the rest of the day and this morning.

Sometimes it will happen if I need to pass wind or do other things.

So I thought maybe it’s just that everything is trying to get itself back into normal position after being so tightly compact in there due to my ovaries being so huge!?

I think I’m just looking for a little bit of reassurance really. Every pain or flinch I get and I’m worrying something is going wrong and I don’t want anything to jeopardise ET today or Saturday

Thank you

Xx

That sounds perfectly normal. I had pains/twinges for a few weeks following egg collection. Those ovaries have been through a lot and it's going to take time for them to settle down.

I also found needing/going to the loo caused more pain.

Rest up as much as you can and take a pain killer if you need to.

Good luck for transfer xx

Hi ChloBo84. So much tugging and prodding going on during egg collection, so as you suspect, it sounds like all is settling back down again. Rest when you can and drink plenty of water, just in case your ovaries are still a bit active. Paracetamol if needed, unless something else was prescribed. No anti inflammatories such as ibuprofen. Have a walk around from time to time to get rid of any collected wind. Hope all is going well with fertilisation. Thinking of you. Diane

Hi Chlobo. I had ec last Wednesday and had the same symptoms. Was also terribly bloated and constipated!! (Never had that b 4 and not pleasant!). I feel better now though ( 8 days on) although still a little tender. So drink lots, take it easy if poss and hopefully it will get better soon xx
