Hi, everyone I had a question regarding miscarriage.

As you know I’ve had a miscarriage at 7 weeks I wanted to know how do you know when a miscarriage is over.

Hope I’m making sense.

Really sorry to learn of your sad loss. Was your miscarriage natural? Did your EPU / hospital know about it? If so, were you given advice or offered a follow up appointment/scan?

Hi, poppy16 thank you for replying. Yes I’ve been to EPU when I was bleeding an they gave me a scan an took some blood. The nurse rang to say my hcg was dropping which indicates I was having a miscarriage. I was told to take a pregnancy test after 2 weeks an if it’s negative I don’t need to do anything an if its positive need to call them.

But feeling paranoid thinking what if it’s negative an it’s still inside.

If you’re test is negative it will all be over. Sorry you’re having to deal with this xx

Are the 2 weeks up yet? Don't want to cause further upset but did you pass things ok? If you are still concerned you could voice your anxiety to your EPU and request another scan to check your womb is clear. It is an awful time. I have lost 3 times and all were terrible. There's the shock, waiting, disappointment, anger, frustration, physical pain etc. No one knows the extent of a miscarriage unless they have been unfortunate enough to have experienced one as well. My thoughts are with you. Trusting all will work out for you some day. Take time and grieve. Xo

No the 2 weeks are not up I’ve got another week to go. I’ve been having stomach cramps more painful than a period. I think because I was early it feels similar to a period.

I had conceived after 11yrs an it was over within weeks it’s been a emotional journey. I pray no one goes through a miscarriage.

Take strong painkillers if you need to. A hot water bottle helps too. Again, I am so sorry you are going through this. It is heartbreaking especially losing after a long time ttc. Xo

When your first period after the miscarriage arrives then that is a good indication that the miscarriage is over. The first period after may be heavier or lighter, it depends. Every woman is different. Hope you are ok. Take care.

Aww thank you. X

A negative pregnancy test is considered to indicate a complete miscarriage. In my first miscarriage I didn’t get this until two weeks after I started bleeding and I bled for almost all that time. In my second miscarriage I got it the morning after starting bleeding and went on to bleed for just one day longer than a normal period.

I’m sorry for your loss. Pm me if I can help further x
