We are on our first cycle and had our egg collection today (they got 9), however when they looked at my partner’s semen, his count was “borderline” for conventional IVF, so they advised that ICSI would have a better chance of success.
We’re a bit disappointed as we wanted an element of natural selection, but ultimately went with whatever would give us the best chance (and not leave us wondering ‘what if?’ should it not work
Now the nervous wait for the call tomorrow.....

☺️ thank you. Do you do acupuncture? I think it’s helps me during all this time. I also done twice on the same day of embryo transfer. Before and after. Even doctor said do not do it.
Try to be stress free.
I always had an idea. If it’s happen great. If not then try again. Specially after transfer you cannot do much anyway. ❤️
Out of my 9 eggs, 7 have successfully fertilised and the other 2 are “doing something”
We’re over the moon! I know there’s still a long way to go, but we’ve decided to celebrate the highs when they happen so off out for dinner and a film tonight
Icsi has a really high success rate for fertilisation. As for natural selection they prepare the sample and chose the best swimmers to inject.
We were advised to go with icsi and had 100% fertilisation rate. Heard without icsi it’s a lot less. So we were extremely happy with the icsi decision.
