Only 15 follies 😫

... as I imagine I only have 15 follies... on average only 50% have eggs... and from that only 50% fertilise so now am looking st only 3 or 4 fertilised eggs... not good averages!

15 follicles is fab!! Try not to stress - it really is quality over quantity. I had 12 follicles, 9 mature eggs retrieved, 6 fertilised, 4 made it to 5 day blastocyst, 1 was put back and 3 frozen. Have faith in your body, it is doing really well so far! Good luck. Xx

Some people only have one or two follicles so 15 is amazing. I got 13 in the end, they couldn't get the 14th one and I had 9 mature, 9 fertilised 5 were looking strong on day 3 and in the end I got 3 5 day blastocysts, 1 transferred and 2 frozen. x

I only had 8 follicles of which only 5 had eggs. Day 1 all 5 fertilised but I’m in the wait to understand if any of them will make it to day 3 or 5. It’s nerve wracking but I’m focussing on quality not quantity. It only takes 1!

Don’t worry, I only had 9 follicles 6 eggs and 4 fertilised, 3 made it to day 5 with one transferred, which was successful. Good luck xx

I think 15 follicles is really good, remember, you only need one good one! I had 19 eggs collected first round and none of them made it to blast! You need quality over quantity.

I had the 2 best transferred, but they didn't do anything. I'm currently preparing for round 2 which will probably be my last round as egg quality is apparently poor.

I had 9 follicles, 7 eggs, only two fertilised and frozen and they were only at grade C and D. This was at first attempt at the age of 44 years old. I keep thinking at my age, I am extremely lucky to have any at all. I know how you feel about averages!!!

15 is soooo good.

I had 12 and only two managed to get to embryo stage.

Transferred one and now nearly 12 weeks pregnant. Nothing to worried darling.

15 follicles is great, many of us on here will be jealous of that. And my clinic expects at least 2/3 of eggs to fertilise. So keep trying to look on the positive side, hard though it is x

I know am already very lucky. Not only I have already had 2 positive ivfs but I also have follies ( some ladies don’t even have follies to start with)... I know I sound very ungrateful nevertheless after the miscarriage my energy has been very low ... all ladies in here have been really positive so thank you all so much. I guess we all expect to hear higher numbers and when that does not happen you come crashing down like a lead ballon. Fingers cross for next scan 🤞🤞🤞

Unfortunately I miscarriages twins at 10 weeks. I felt like a part of me died as well. 😭

Hi Kattalex,

I only collected 7 eggs from 6 follies. 5 of them survived to day 5 blastocysts.

You have a much better chance with you 15 Follies!

Don’t worry, even if you have 3 (which is unlikely) it really is more about quality than quantity.

Incredible support from everyone 🐝 🐝 💫.... am recommending this forum to everyone I met thinking of starting or already undergoing ivf/icsi... the support and positivity I find here makes me feel less lonely. In days when the world around us crumbles under our feet, only people that walk the same path know how to survive!

Hi! I'm on first round of IVF and am hoping to have ec on Fri - fingers crossed. I have about 12 follies but have to keep growing them a few more days before trigger. It's such a lottery isn't it but you can only let your body do what it does and trust the clinic to do the best for you. As many people on here say it's the quality not the quantity. Mind you I'm great at the positive vibes for others but hard when talking to yourself right?!!! Good luck. 🍀 x
