Only quarter of eggs fertilised

I had 8 eggs collected yesterday & had ICSI. I was pleased as last cycle only had 5 eggs. Today I have been told only two have fertilised normally. Another three were injected but not yet developing normally. These may or may not develop. Disappointed as I was hoping more would fertise. Is this normal? Anyone else had this happen? Disappointed they will be frosen too so bit up & down.

Hi, I just had my EC a couple of weeks ago. I got 8 eggs, 5 mature, 3 fertilised in the end. All 3 made it to day 5 blastocysts, and all were good enough to transfer / freeze. You can definitely have good results from low numbers so try not to worry, good luck!!! 🤞 xxxx

I always say we always want one more. I only got 4 collected and only one fertilised. I was absolutely gutted as I wanted just one more for freezing. It's a total clichè but you only need one. Our one turned into a top quality 5 day hatching blastocyst which turned into a BFP and currently 7 weeks. Wishing you the best of luck for day 5 xx

Don't stress yourself hun... i had only 3 eggs collected. All 3 made it to day 5 blastocyst. After doing pgs testing i had 2. So it is not about quantity. it is about quality.

Hi we had 4 eggs and 2 fertilised but only 1 made it to a 5 day blastocyst. We're current 10 weeks pregnant. It only takes 1. Stay positive and try not to think of the numbers. X

Don't forget it only takes one. We had 10 eggs collected and only one fertilised with ICSI we had a day 2 transfer and I am now 27 weeks pregnant. Little miracles do happen. Xx
