Who had success or not with scratch and embryo glue?
Hiya
I’ve not had a scratch but I’ve opted for embryo glue and my transfer of tomorrow or Tuesday- thought it couldn’t do any harm. Good luck with your round. Xx
Hi, I had the scratch and embryo glue on my last cycle and now have beautiful twin daughters, good luck Xx
I'll got BFP from recent cycle after scratch x
I had glue on my second FET and am 10 weeks pregnant. Xx
I had no scratch but glue on my second ivf round & Im 32 weeks pregnant now with a little girl 😊 good luck with your cycle ️xx
Excuse my ignorance but what is scratch? We're on our first ivf round but this doesnt sound familiar to anything we spoke to the clinic about. They don't do embryo glue first round either.
What is endometrial scratching?
An endometrial scratch is a procedure used to help embryos implant more successfully after In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) or Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) treatment. It is generally only used for patients who have experienced multiple unsuccessful IVF cycles, despite the transfer of good quality embryos.
The procedure is sometimes referred to as an endometrial biopsy, as it involves taking a biopsy of the lining of the uterus, called the ‘endometrium’, using a thin catheter (pipille) that is passed through the cervix. No anaesthetic is required, but patients are generally advised to take over-the-counter pain medication beforehand as it can cause some pain. Pain during the scratch procedure was reported during one study as an average of 6/10. An endometrial biopsy can also be performed at the same time as a hysteroscopy.
An endometrial scratch is best performed in the week or so prior to the start of an IVF or frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycle (the luteal phase). This is a week after ovulation and a few days before a woman’s period is due.
Hi, I was hoping to have the glue but didn't realise I had to order it in advance before the transfer. I didn't have and my clinic said it would all be fine without it, am now 22 weeks pregnant so it can clearly work without!! Good luck xxx
Hi, I had both the scratch and the embryo glue on each of the 3 fresh IVF cycles. First two failed but on the third I got pregnant...I'm 6w4d now. I guess it helps :). Good luck!
We had the glue on our first fresh cycle and unfortunately we got a BFN so we decided not to use it again. Instead, we were encouraged by the clinic to have the scratch in our next frozen cycle. It worked but unfortunately we had a missed miscarriage. We tried the scratch again on another frozen cycle and I'm now again pregnant.
