Hidden posted this earlier, it makes for a very interesting read hfea.gov.uk/treatments/expl...

I personally have opted for the glue on all three of my rounds and for the scratch on the last two xx

Hi Sandy, I see you too have stage 4 endo, from what I figured from briefly glimpsing at your posts?

My clinic, a good proper clinic, strongly advised me against the scratch because of my stage 4 endo and adenomyosis. My clinic consultants, are fertility specialists but also endo surgeons - so I took that advice seriously.

I did have embryo glue, and used embroscope time lapse photography. xx

Thank you for your reply it's so hard as we already had a fail round don't want another one. We got told we would have to pay for the embryo glue but we don't mind. Did u have to pay for yours? Did you have any surgeries done b4 you did yours?

Yes, I had to pay for all my treatment, nothing on the NHS at all. But I was nearly 40 on 1st IVF attempt.

Yes, I had 2 surgeries and needed a third on my left ovary, but my consultants at Oxford advised that this would be risky, with more potential damage to my ovaries (they had both been operated on twice a 2 years prior).

I was really poorly due to my endo, decided to resign from my career as was just so ill and took a ling time to recover from each surgery.

That said, it worked using my own eggs at first attempt but I know I was incredibly lucky. xx

I'm so happy that yours was successful I not long had a opp but do not feel like anything has changed. I also had to stop working so I totally understand where your coming from.

Perhaps give a little time to heal and recover. When was your op? What did they do? Has your surgeon or IVF consultant given you a timeline for recovery before IVF or can you go to it soon?

It was on the 30th June they said they removed all the endo and removed a nodule I had on my belly button. But the pain I was experiencing before is the same so I'm confused and my follow up appointment ain't till next month😩. My IVF consultant didn't even say anything about my surgery which was a bit weird

I've had the endo scratch twice and both cycles been unsuccessful. My first cycle I didn't have and fell pregnant but miscarried. I think it's definitely down to personal choice, good luck on whatever you decide x
