Morning! We are going in for our transfer tomorrow morning & hopefully our pumpkins have done what they were meant to do & got to blastocyst.

We agreed to have 2x implanted (if we have them) but now I'm having a wobble & don't know if 1x is better? I'm 36 So know that age isn't on my side. Any advice would be great! Xx

What does ur Dr advise? My personal opinion is I'd have 2 but wait an c how they have developed and wat ur Dr thinks. Congrats on getting to transfer and good luck xx

See what your clinic advise. I had one on my first DE cycle and it failed, on my 2nd try I had two we did get pregnant with twins but lost one at about 9 weeks, I am now 26 weeks with our remaining fighter xx

we had the same 'dilemma' and went for 2, 1 implanted. Go with the advice of the professionals though as everyone's different. Good luck! Xx

Larger risks with putting two back in. I’d go with the advise of the clinic depending on freezing quality etc

Is there any reason why they would have encouraged you to have two? We were always advised against it (and I’m 37) due to the higher risk of twins and the complications that can come with that. But on the other hand they say that statistically it doesn’t guarantee much more success than having one put back. The way we look at it is this; if we put back two and the cycle doesn’t work, we’ve potentially lost two chances. So we’ve always thought one is best, that way we double our attempts. We would feel much worse getting a bfn knowing we’d used two instead of one. Hope that makes sense. Xx

For me, they told me they had one that was above average which they were putting back and none of the others were good enough to freeze, so I asked to have another one put back as well as my theory was that I’d rather it died inside me than in a Petri dish! If any others had been good enough to freeze I might have felt differently. I was told that even nhs funded rounds over 38 allow you to put two back. I have a friend who had two back and got one child but also a friend who has twins from ivf... and of course there’s that tiny risk of ending up with four!

Do you have any to freeze over and above the two?

I had two, I was 39. It failed for some other reasons but If you can do 2 then personally I would do it!

I’m 41 and was lucky to have one fantastic embryo and one good embryo planted on advice from the embryologist and I’m nhs with my first try. I found out a few days later that my remaining embryos didn’t make it to being Frosties... so I’m now hoping in my 2ww!! Xx
