My illusive polyp is finally gone and I'm very pleased! It was spotted 8 months ago just as we were about to start our first cycle. 2 months later I had a hysteroscopy with local anasthetic but they couldn't find it so assumed it had gone by itself.
And then just before our first FET it was seen on a scan again. On the 2D scan it looked like it was in the middle of the uterus but the 3D scanner showed it was actually tucked away in the corner which must be why it wasn't found during the hysteroscopy. We were advised to have it removed but also told it was unlikely to affect implantation because of its location. So we went ahead with FET but it failed.
Now with only 1 more frostie in the freezer, we decided to try to get this polyp out first this time.
So I've just had a hysteroscopy under a general and the clever surgeon did manage to get it out! She said they'd also given me an endometrial scratch, and suggested we go ahead with the next FET asap.
What I wonder is, has anyone had experience of getting pregnant after a polyp removal? As hubby's sperm count is now good, I'm wondering if it could have been the polyp stopping us conceiving..? There seems to be so little medical research in this area, so am looking for personal stories! x
