Hi All, have been feeling very down. We just did our 5th round and we were going for PGTA testing after a horrible mc at Xmas. We got 9 eggs this round (the most we’ve ever had) and had 3 blastocysts but they stopped growing before they could be tested so essentially another failed round. Has anyone had success on the 6th, 7th or 8th round? TIA

Any success stories at 6th or 7th round?
Hi lovely,
Sorry to hear your story so far.
We had 5 failed transfers before doing PGT-A testing and trying steroids to help implantation. We’d never had any luck with implantation at all, zero positive tests, but thankfully we’d always been able to get some blastocysts.
Amazingly our 6th transfer worked 🙏🏼
Have you looked at different supplements for egg quality or other options to help you get blastocysts?
xx
Hi Millbanke , did you do anything different in your sixth transfer other than steroids ? Just had my 8th transfer which was a BFN and I am beginning to think it just won’t happen for us .
Hi Rosebud, I’m sorry to hear your situation. I’m feeling a little the same and then feeling guilty for feeling it! 😬 It’s so difficult. Wishing you all the best xx
And sorry Lamagarden for bombarding your post, wishing you better luck than I am having. I have 2 embryos left and will be calling it a day after that. Hope to just do one last transfer with the 2 . No need to feel guilty , it’s horrible what we have to put our bodies through.
So during our treatment I had the ERA/ALICE/EMMA done, I had a polyp removed, 4 egg collections and 6 transfers. We did PGT-A testing on the last batch of embryos too.
Each transfer I had very low progesterone so was on the max dose for the last transfer. But ultimately it was the steroids / intralipids that I believe gave us our BFP.
Have you had your immune panel tested? It was the last thing on the list for me - annoyingly but it did come back as elevated.
So sorry you're on number 8 - it's so rough I know. There is another girl on here Scarlett13 who had success on number 8 - she might have some tips for you.
Wishing you lots of luck xxx
p.s. feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
thank you so much for that info Millbank ! I have had everything tested apart from Emma /Alice . I also have PGT normal embryos so I know the issue is me. I really don’t want to fork out more money on Emma /Alice and wish they could just prescribe me antibiotics/probiotics! Did you need to get treatment from those tests ? Well done on finally getting your positive xx
Hi Millbanks, thanks for your reply. Congratulations on the 6th transfer! With regards to supplements, we’ve been taking many for ages! Vit E, good prenatal vit, cod liver oil, Coq10 and L-Caritine. Other things, like EMMA, ALICE etc, we’ve looked into but our consultant went through each of them and ultimately didn’t recommend them. Out of 5 rounds, we’ve had 2 BFPs but a mc and a chemical. All the best xx
Hello lovely, thank you so much.
Sounds like you're taking a good amount of supplements - I was rattling by the end.
I took Ubiquinol instead of Coq10 as its supposedly easier to absorb and I also took NAC which gives energy to the cells - could be a massive coincidence but after I included these in my protocol we had the best egg to blastocyst ratio that we ever got.
I also went to see Melanie Brown who is a nutritionist to help with diet and she gave me tonnes of things to change to help with egg quality.
I know a lot of people are against PGT-A testing but if you do another cycle and have embryos to test, I would recommend going for it. It just means that you don't end up transferring embryos that ultimately aren't going to stick.
Much love xxx
My sisters children came from her 7th and 8th rounds which were her last two embryos. She had thrown everything at earlier rounds and always got BFNs. With these rounds they were her worst quality embryos, she did steroids but didn't bother with a scratch, PGT, blood thinners or anything else as nothing had worked previously, they are now 2 and 4 x
