I haven't posted on here for a long time. My last 2 rounds of IVF failed, the last one being in March\April this year. I was diagnosed with blocked tubes and told by the doctor it was highly unlikely that I would ever fall pregnant naturally and would need IVF. I had one taken out as it had a hydrosalpinx in it, they left the other tube in however it was apparently blocked but doctor was unsure why and said the only way forward for is would be IVF. I had my IVF and aftetwards when it didnt work I was convinced that my tube wasnt blocked, so I did some research of my own and even spoke with the lovely Diane on here about it. The reason I was sure my tube wasn't blocked was because when I first had the dye test done it showed that it was clear with free spill. It wasn't until they did my laparoscopy to remove the tube with the hydro and they repeated the dye test that they discovered it was actually blocked! Diane suggested that perhaps my tube went into spasm when they tried to put the dye through when I was under general anaesthetic. I looked into this and found that this can actually happen so I asked my fertility doctor at our follow up appointment after our IVF and he said indeed that can happen! The tube can spasm and close up temporarily! I wish he would have told me this earlier as we would have really "tried" naturally.. But we thought there was no hope as was just told it was blocked and needed IVF. Fast forward 5 months later.. We have been trying naturally with ovulation sticks.. And I can't beleive I'm writing this but it's happened.. I'm 5 weeks pregnant. I just wanted to thank you Diane for your advise and help and support. If it wasn't for you I would have just thought there was no chance for me. Ladies never give up and don't take no for an answer! If you have blocked tubes there can still be a way! It might not always be what it seems! I just wanted to give a bit of hope to you all. Weve been trying for a baby for nearly 5 years and just can't beleive what we went through and now it's happened naturally. Baby dust to you all ladies xxxx

Hi Beckyboo1985. Fabulous news! So pleased I could help you a little. Best get your scan booked so you can meet your little "bean". Have a safe and happy pregnancy, and if I can help with my midwife hat on at all, I shall still be here! Diane xx
Thank you Diane! I have an early scan booked for the 9th October to make sure the little bean is in the right place as obviously worried in case it's in the tube. Fingers crossed! I do have a question actualy! I'm feeling a little bit achey all over like I'm coming down with the flu or something. Is that normal at 5 weeks? Thanks again Diane you're a diamond! Xx
Hi Beckyboo1985. Don't really know, but I doubt anything to do with baby. It's the time of the year for flu type viruses, so maybe a 24 Hour thingy. Just rest when you can and drink plenty. Safe to take some paracetamol if needed, but no anti inflammatories such as ibuprofen. Hope it soon passes. Diane
That's simply an amazing triumph tale over infertility. Woman your story would surely make many women like mine have hope. Though my problem is still in "unexplained" category I feel the positive vibe this post is meant to spread. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Congratulations!! You've got be very careful now that the baby is on board. I haven't been a mother yet but I pretty much feel other people's pregnancy and the sprawl of hapiness that comes with it. Take lots of rest and do whatever it takes to stay happy and positive. You've got all my luck on your side lady! I'll wait eagerly for your updates.
Aww thanks honey I am so pleased it's helped you feel positive! It's still very early days yet as I'm only 5 weeks, were having an early scan on the 9th to rule out ectopic as they thought my tube was blocked. Trying to stay positive before then! I will keep you updated. Keep on keeping on as you just don't know what's around the corner! Xxx
Congratulations I hope u have a happy and healthy pregnancy xx
Ahh really? Yes remain hopefull! I am still scared as it's so early and I'm worrying it could be ectopic.. But theres not much I can do but wait! Scan is on the 9th October. Really hope the little bean is in the right place! I havent jaf any bleeding or pain yet so hoping thats a good sign 🙏 xxx
I had a laperoscopy last Thursday to unblock or remove my left tube after having the blockage diagnosed over 2 years ago at salpingogram.
Woke up from anaesthetic last week to find that my tube was not blocked and apart from a tiny fibroid that they said wouldn't interfere with fertility, everything looked healthy and clean as a whistle. The dye spilled through both tubes and everything!
I wasn't sure how I felt about this because I thought that treating this "blocked tube" was going to be our answer.
Now I'm into the idea of trying naturally for a wee while, at least til the next ivf.
Oh wow that is just incredible!! Massive congratulations to you and your partner ❤️ Best wishes for a healthy and happy pregnancy, enjoy every moment xxxxx
