Hi,

I'm just really looking for some advice into the benefits of acupuncture for ivf. I was wondering when people normally start it and if they go through it during the time of treatment?

Any advice would be greatly received.

Xx

Hi, I had acupuncture for around 5 weeks before treatment then during and after transfer too. I really loved it, it really helped me to relax and I got pregnant on my first cycle :) xx

Thank you so much. My 2nd ivf cycle (first was cancelled half way through stimms) is starting mid November, so may start looking into starting acupuncture soon. Xx

Huge congrats to you blue! How far along are you? Xx

Hi thanks so much I am 16 weeks on Thursday :) I really feel the acupuncture helped me focus on having a positive outcome too xxx

Wow, 16 weeks, that's excellent. Hope the pregnancy itself is going well.

I really do think I'm going to give it a go - can't do me any harm anyway. Plus, I do suffer quite badly from anxiety at times, so think it can help with that too xx

Same here. I started 5 weeks before and twice on the day of transfer. Don't know yet result as I'm on my 2ww (few days left)

Hey, I've had Acupunture 3/4 cycles I know there are studies to support infertility but I also think it provides massive relief for my stress and anxiety. I would say definitely go to someone who specialises in infertility though, i had it for about a month before and then one before and after ET. I got my BFP last week and am still continuing to have it. Lots of luck for whatever you decide xx

Thank you so much E. I will definitely give it a go I think. Huge congratulations on your bfp too. So glad it happened for you xx

Thank you, I also fell pregnant on my 1st cycle but sadly miscarried so I definitely think Acupunture helps. When do you start treatment? Xx

So sorry for your loss honey. I too had a miscarriage while taking letrozole a year and a half ago (only time I got a bfp while ttc).

I really hope this time round is your beautiful rainbow sticky bean.

I start treatment on 14th November. I'm on microgynon for the next 2 cycles, so I at least feel like I'm doing something in the build up to the treatment.

Just hope it works this time round

Xx

So sorry for yours to, its so heart breaking. Thank you, I hope so to.

Oh okay, definitely I think it helps 'doing' something in the build up. I find waiting for treatment is always harder than once you've started, hopefully Acupunture will make you feel more in control of treatment to.

Wishing you lots of luck for a successful cycle xx

I have had acupuncture on and off since February as my fsh was 14.6 and it came down to 4.9 after 6 weeks of weekly treatment (needed to be below 10 for ivf). I've had it on and off since then & it has been so helpful to have 1 hour 1:1 with someone who is really invested in you ( and who isn't your partner!!)

I had it on the day of embryo transfer and am now 7 weeks pregnant after my first ivf cycle. Have my scan next week.

I truly believe that acupuncture really helped me on this journey- it's expensive but worth it. Find a fertility specialist if you can- mine was recommended.

Good luck!!! X

Thank you so much pips! That's so encouraging. Huge congrats on your bfp.

I have emailed a centre which says they specialise in fertility acupuncture for some more information, so will hopefully hear from them soon.

I'm kind of willing to try anything which may be able to help me to get my rainbow ☺️

I've had acupuncture this time. Started a few sessions a month before meds and times it round my scans etc. I've had a much better response to the meds (needed 2 days less than expected). Last time one ovary was doing all the work but this time both are working evenly. I don't know if it's linked to the acupuncture or not but the studies show it can have a great effect. It may be down to the relaxation part of it, who knows but if you can afford it, I'd recommend it.

EC tomorrow and then I've timed sessions around embryo transfer. Fingers crossed 🤞
