Good evening all

Am I starting on the long protocol (currently on day 4 of the pill) and have read on here loads of times about acupuncture during the treatment.

What is your experience of acupuncture during ur fertility treatment and do you feel it made a difference??

Thanks in advance

Sx

I’ve had Acupunture 3/4 cycles and have just started again ready for number 5. I find it beneficial not only for fertility treatment but it helps with my anxiety during my cycles. Good luck xx

Thanks for the reply,

That’s what am hoping for as I work with people who suffer mental health issues which is a mentally draining job so feel like I need to try and relax as much as possible.

Good luck on your 5th cycle 🤞🏻 xx

I totally agree with the above. Also there are proven studies that have shown there is an increased success with ivf when you have a session prior to and just after your transfer.

Good luck xxx

Thanks camillage

Yeah I have also heard that before, I have an appointment for an acupuncture clinic that deal specifically with fertility and ivf so am sure they will recommend ivf at these points of the treatment if not I will be sure to mention it.

No experience yet but have booked in for my first session on Friday! Have you looked into a fertility specialist acupuncture? My clinic are linked to a specialist so I’ve booked in with her (taking out a 2nd mortgage to do so it feels like!!) she recommended I come before collection and then on transfer day and in the 2ww.

Xx

I have found a acupuncture clinic that is specialised in fertility in my area, I have my first meeting on Wednesday evening to go through the whole process so I am presuming they will also suggest acupuncture at specific times throughout the treatment.

Good luck for Friday let me know how u get on xx

Ladies, look into getting a health cash back plan to claim back some of the cost of your acupuncture. I’ve done this and claimed back more than the annual cost of the plan in just a few months. It was someone on here who put me on to it.

Thanks I will certainly look into this as it’s not cheap 😳 x

I did a lot of research before starting my IVF cycle and as a result decided to have acupuncture. I would recommend an acupuncturist who specialises in fertility. Mine was amazing and on top of the acupuncture treatment she gave me a lot of advice which I believe all contributed to my BFP. In my opinion it’s expensive but well worth it.

If u don’t mind me asking how many cycles did u do before getting BFP? X

I was lucky enough to get a BFP on my first cycle. I had weekly acupuncture in the build up. I then had two sessions the day of the embryo transfer (before and after) and then continued having weekly sessions until my 12 week scan. My acupuncturist also recommended some additional vitamins and changes to my diet. She also advised that I rest as much as possible in my two week wait whereas the drs had said I should carry on as normal. I took my acupuncturists advice and took the 2ww off work and rested. I wish you luck with your cycle x

I'm going for my first appointment of acupuncture this evening. I'm on my second cycle of clomid. I'm a little nervous but the main thing is to try and relieve some of my constant anxiety and negativity! I hope it works for you 😊
