Hi all we've been trying for a baby since 2015 had a lot of miscarriages, 1 ectopic so heartbreaking, I got referred to a hospital that deals with fertility issues, I've had to fight for every appointment, now when you get referred are they suppose to do any tests on you ? We've had nothing been palmed off to another hospital feel like I'm not getting anywhere, one thing they did find was my thyroid isn't working properly which is good I'm now on medication for it, but was hoping they would check my uterus and tubes to make sure they are ok but nothing ? Any advice I can go back the drs for another referral ?

Hi Hulmesy. Well, first iof all, I was so sorry to hear that you had suffered an ectopic pregnancy, and hope you received support following this. If you have suffered 3 miscarriages or more, you should be referred to a recurrent miscarriage clinic for investigates into a possible cause for them happening. The fact that you have been trying to conceive for 2 years is plenty long enough, so you need to be referred to a fertility specialist too for further investigations re tube check etc. A regular check on your thyroid function should be carried out too, to check that you are on the correct level of medication. I do hope you can soon get this sorted. Thinking of you. Diane

Hi,

I've been trying to get pregnant for 5 years, so I share your feelings. After 2 TTC failure years my husband and I went to a fertility clinic and had our fertilities checked. I had all my pelvic cavity investigated via ultrasound and some other tests plus blood and urine tests. There were plenty, so I cannot recall all of them. But I'm sure you'll be able to find the whole list in the web. And I was checked after every failed IVF cycle. So your story is very strange. Knowing all your problems and checking so little is just not right. Maybe you should find another clinic?

My situation is different since we have unexplained and haven't started our first cycle and never got a BFP but here are the tests we've had done

- Sperm analysis for him

- day 3 FSH, LH, estradiol, testosterone

- thyroid function test

- transvaginal ultrasound where they see the ovaries and count antral follicles

- HSG to check tubes and uterine cavity

- day 21 progesterone

-because they found a large cyst on ovary, i had an MRI to confirm it and then I surgery to remove it and while they were there, they checked for endometriosis (but I didn't have symptoms of it)

Never got AMH tested. If it was up to me I would want to be tested for everything. These don't sound like enough tests especially since we are still unexplained. But that sounds like these are the 'standard' ones.
