Anyone have any experience with this?

Hi, I need help.

5 weeks ago I had my first MC. It was after I had my second in vitro treatment with a sperm donor. I'm single, I'm 30 years old, that's why I decided to have my baby that way. The first attempt did not work, but the second one did.

All was well and after 4 weeks, one night I started to bleed in my bed. It was not stained, it was abundant and colorful blood. I knew at the time that I was having a loss. It was horrible. The next day they did not attend my clinic, they told me that I should wait until Monday. The loss was a Sunday. After an ultrasound, they told me they did not feel the baby's heartbeat.

I do not understand why that had to happen to me. I did some tests, and the result is that I have PCOS. I knew it, but I did not know it could cause me a loss.

My doctor told me that we could try again, but I'm afraid that it might cause me another loss. I wish if anyone has had any experience of this kind, help me.

I am so so so sorry to hear of your loss it is so devastating after fighting so hard to have a baby.. I have recently had a miscarriage from a natural conception ( once my endometriosis was diagnosed and treated we conceived). My miscarriage started a day after our positive test-it was confirmed by our 6 weeks scan.

The most difficult thing about early miscarriages is never knowing the reason they occured. I wonder if my endometriosis was the cause of ours but we will never know.

Maybe you could ask the consultant if there is anything other medications you can take to promote a better outcome?

I have contacted my Fertility specialist to see if there is anything else we can do- I had a threatened miscarriage and this miscarriage. My consultant prescribed me Prednisone ( which is a low dose steroid as I have raised NK cells) and progesterone pessaries to take from positive test to 12 weeks. Our consultant is on holiday but once I hear from him I can let you know if he recommends anything if that would be helpful?

I wanted to say just because you lost this pregnancy doesn't mean you will again- BBC did an article and many women who conceive within 6 months of a miscarriage are less likely to experience another one.

Sorry you're going through this. Here if you fancy a chat xoxo

I'm sorry to hear about your sad news, I can't imagine how painful it must be. My doctor has prescribed metformin, I have been taking it 3 months before treatment. I asked the reason for the medication and he just said 'we find it gives better chance of live birth with ladies with pcso' they don't seem like o know why!

I hope you find your happy ending ❤️

Sorry to hear of your loss. I don't have experience if this. My younger sister had to take blood thinning meds after her MC and she now has a little girl. Don't give up hope xx

I don't know if this will help you but miscarriage is incredibly common, it's just not talked about very much. The last stars I saw said up to 1 in 3 pregnancies. Most of my friends (including me) have had at least one (we are in our late 30s) and most have successfully had babies afterwards. Generally the medics aren't concerned until you've had two or three. Try Tommys or the miscarriage association if you would like more support or advice. Sending you a gentle hug and good luck for the future x
