Hi, is anyone else going through a second fresh round? It would be good to have a buddy or 2 to talk to.
I thought it would be easier this time because we have been through the process before, but it's still very stressful with lots of unknowns 😬
My last round didn't go well and only ended up with 3 eggs/ 1 fertilised embryo!
This round I have an increased dose of menopur and I'm praying for more eggs this time. Iv got my first progress scan on Friday. Wish me luck 🍀 x

We're on our second fresh ICSI cycle!! EC is this morning so slightly ahead of you at the moment. Hoping for better results this time too- we had 3 eggs collected last time, which all fertiliser but not great quality. 2 were put back in but didn't work - the 3rd one wasn't good enough for freezing. So, here's hoping for better result this morning. Good luck for this cycle xx

Hi, not great - only managed to collect 1 egg. Pretty gutted tbh. The clinic have phoned and told us that it is mature and they have injected it so we just need to wait and see if it fertiliser overnight. Hope your scan goes well tomorrow x
I'm so sorry! All this ivf is so tough! Sending you lots of hugs. I know it's the most annoying thing for people to say... but it does only take one! I hope things go well for you.
Were you expecting more? Did you have a lot of follicles in scans?

I know it only takes 1 but it's hard telling my brain that!!! The scans showed 4 follicles and the bloods suggested possibly 5 so absolutely gutted to only come away with 1. However it's mature and has been injected so now onto the waiting game! The embryologist talked today about a 3 day transfer but recommended a 5 day transfer so i think we'll wait for that x
If you can get a day 5 transfer that will be amazing!
My clinic won't go to day 5 unless you have 3 embryo so we were allowed!

We are with a private clinic so even if there's 1, they will make every attempt to get it back In!! Feeling ok about it now, if we can get the call in the morning to say that it has fertiliser then that would be Great! If not, then we're back at square 1 again!!
We are private as well. They said to me last time that they will put it back straight away if you have less than 3 embryos.

Our second cycle failed. The solitary egg that we had failed to fertiliser overnight so it was all over before it began!!
We are now patching ourselves up for the 3rd cycle. I have started taking DHEA so have to give that 3 months for it to take effect.
It's really hard this whole process, we put so much hope into it all to just get ripped away!

I'm guessing it just gets harder. I didn't expect to be so devastated as I have been the past 24 hours.

Our second round failed. I went from 225 menopur to 375 menopur.
The follicles grew very quick but still not high volumes.
We got 6 eggs collected and all 6 fertilised. We though it was going amazing until day 5.
By day 5 we still had 6 but they were all bad quality.
I had 2 early blasts put back that were average/ poor quality. 4 days after the transfer a started spotting and it was over 😢 !
I don't know what went wrong. We have a review meeting with the consultant next week so we'l see what he says.
They have suggested a short protocol next time! X
Thank you for sharing your experience. So hopefully your consultant will now work to improve your egg quality? I started on 150 menopur, which is low but my AMH level was really high. I'm 35 and the consultant told me the usual amount for 35 plus is 300. In hindsight I think they should of started me on 300 as I only had 4 follicles after one week on the med.
I've been told to take pregnacare. I've just been taking box standard folic acid and vitamin d to date.
Are you taking any extra supplements?

Last round I had a collection 3 days early and I'm worried that the high dose made them grow too quick and the quality was effected. The first round I only had 1 embryo but it was good quality.
It's all a minefield of unanswerable questions! X

My day 7 scan saw 9 follies and day 9 saw 10 and some very small ones. I think I'm happy with 9 if the quality is good. Last icsi cycle I collected 14 eggs but only 1 went to blastocyst and non to freeze😞
So I'm all about quality and not quantity this time round!
How's your scans? When's your egg collection?
That sounds really good. Do you know what sizes they are? I really hope they are great quality for you.
They always say quality over quantity.
My problem last time was they didn't go together. Even though I had 9, they were all different sizes and at EC point only 3 were mature x

Hi, changed from merional to bemfola and upped dosage second time round. Had more eggs and grew better. Had two blastocyst transferred so just keeping fingers crossed. None for freezing which was a bit disappointing but embryos didn't get to blastocyst stage last time so definitely better this time round.

Did you feel different this time round? I feel uncomfortable this time and bloated- which didn't happen last time! So I'm hoping something more has happened this time! X
If your starting to feel bloated that sounds positive! I definitely felt more bloated this time, in the second week particularly and had twice as many eggs collected as first time. I started panicking at first scan that there weren't enough and too small at my 5 day scan but they got there so dont put too much pressure on yourself tomorrow, its early days.

Feel ok, been tired and had some nasty headaches over last week but think thats probably due to cyclogest. Part of me doesnt want to test as dont want to know if its negative! Will have to be brave tho!
I'm currently going through my 2nd cycle 2. My last cycle I had 3 eggs collected but none fertilised so didn't make it to transfer! Aww thank you. It was hard. It didn't even cross my mind that we would t make it to transfer if we had the eggs collected. Never mind. They have started me on the drugs at a much higher dose to get my levels up straight away and my egg collection went wrong last time and I ended up having an abdominal collection without sedation so they have now said the top consultant has guaranteed he will do egg collection this time too so hopefully will be a different story this time. I'm on day 11 of stims and have another progress scan tomorrow. Hope your follies are growing well 😁 X

Yeah I had one on wed as they thought I was ready but they not quite big enough yet. I had more this time but I have a lot of follicles on both sides each time. Last time tho a lot of the follicles were empty which they had no reason for x

I'm on my second cycle too 2nd scan tomorrow only had 2 follicles responding on Monday. Have you had a blood test my private clinic said they don't bother with them anymore!! I'm praying for good next tomorrow. Good luck x
Yeah I have to go for bloods every Monday Wednesday and Friday while stimming and they use the results of these to alter the dosage. I have everything crossed you get good news at your scan tomorrow 🤞 X

Hi, Iv been stimming for 5 days now- tonight will be my 6th night. I have my first progress scan tomorrow. Iv been feeling very uncomfortable and bloated (that I didn't feel last time) so I'm hoping that's a good sign.

I'm just about to start our fresh 2nd round of icsi.
First cycle I had lots of follicles but all varying sizes so only ended up with 4 eggs, 3 of which fertilised & made it to blastocyst stage but after 2 were popped back in, the didn't embed 
They've changed my meds somewhat as they feel I'm not at risk of OHSS.
I know what you mean about on the one hand feeling more prepared for what's ahead but also apprehensive of how to deal with any disappointment.
I'm due for egg collection 20th Sept, how about you?
I have just been for my first progress this morning. This morning Iv got 3 x 17mm, 1 x 15mm, 2 x 14mm, 1 x 11mm, 2 x 9mm and 1 x 8mm
They have given me 3 more days of the higher dose. Iv got another scan Monday and hopefully collection on Wednesday!

I start injecting on the 9th. Still taking norhisterone at the moment for them to 'take control' of my cycle.

I'm about to start my meds for 2nd round. I was surprisingly ok last time but definitely more flustered about getting everything right this time around! I asked for increased dosage this time as I was in a minimal stimulation protocol last time. All they done is increase my clomid slightly, menopur etc exactly the same as before. Still minimal stim but apparently they think it's enough to increase egg yield. Last time I had 3 with 2 that made it to embryos and were transferred. This time I'm really hoping for more so we can maybe try a frozen cycle next time if we aren't lucky this time again. I'm obviously hoping not to need it but I'm also planning ahead. I'm 40 in a few weeks so I need to g realistic too. Good luck with the scan, fingers crossed 🤞🏻 for more this time!!
Hi, I think everyone dreams of getting something to freeze! I know I do anyway 😊 I don't know how successful frozen rounds are though.
I had my scan today. I haven't got a lot more follicles than last time (one more) but the higher dose has made them grow a lot quicker. I'm happy that Iv got more bigger follicles. Hopefully egg collecting next week will be successful. Good luck with your next round! X
