Pregnancy Test Advice...

Hi to all of you who have been there and done that on testing day...

I'm nearly there - at the end of the 2WW and almost ready to test. Thursday is the big day.

However, this falls on the same day we fly out on holiday, and we have the earliest flight in the world so are being picked up at 330am! Can you believe our long awaited, much needed yearly holiday has clashed with test day! Although the holiday will be much needed either way.

Anyway, if we're leaving at 330 but i need to test with the first wee of the day, will that be too early? I don't see us getting an early night the night before so will likely get only a few hours sleep. Is that a long enough wait? Or should I leave it and test the day after, which even while I type the suggestion feels impossible...

If I was you I would get two tests and test early on OTD and the day after just to be sure. Enjoy your hol and good luckxxx

I'd probably wait and do it the day after but I know that's probably easier said than done! I'd rather wait and know that it's accurate rather than risking a false negative. If all goes well with my cycle I'll end up testing on holiday too in a few weeks!

How annoying that OTD falls on your holiday... I don't think I would be able to concentrate on packing! If it helps, I always wee in the night, and did my test at 2am on my OTD today (had held my urine since about 9.30pm so only about 4.5 hours but did try not to drink too much yesterday evening. Still got my BFP today 😊 So I agree... do it with your first wee when you wake on Thursday, but have another test to do the day after as well. Will have my fingers crossed for you xxxx

I dont think I would be able to wait and go away without testing. I would do as Hidden said and double check the test to be on the safe side! Best of luck!xx

How long from EC to OTD? Could you test a day early and then the day after? In theory you should have an answer 14 days after EC but clinics often add a few days on to be absolutely certain.

Hi Lynn, thanks for the reply. So EC was the 3rd. That's exactly 14 days ago from Thursday. I think I'll have to try not to wee from 10pm then do the test at 3am and hope it's accurate! I'll then do another the day after too I guess!

Take some time out for yourself. Have some time to think. Don't make any rush decisions. Maybe you could consider donor eggs? It's a personal decision but there are still options available to you so please don't give up yet. Just take some time... xx
