Worrying !

Hi all,

I'm stressing like mad! On day 12 and have a couple more days of I jetting Menopur than expected as slow follicle growth.

I've just done my injection and half way through pushing the syringe down the needle became detached and half the solution went everywhere!

I feel such a fool. I thoroughly check what I'm doing.

Phoned emergency number which is a gyny ward and no one for fertility there until 9am.

Any advice gratefully received x

Has the booklet got any tips? i last did IVF a few years ago and used different drugs - so dont feel I can help.

Hope there are others out there with a few tips. xxx

No nothing! Spoke to a nurse on genealogical ward and she said don't inject more and call back tomorrow 9-5! Nothing I can do now just feel such a fool. Thanks for your message x

God you got hold of someone. How much do you think went in?

Probably about 1/3-1/2. I'm trying to be realistic and hope that it won't mess up my whole cycle I guess it just won't aid follicle growth 😕

well at least there is some drug in the system, so it will do something. I think i did the same with Gonal F, but it was a few years back, I think we reinfected but as Rainbow says below, its a different drug.

Any guide online?

We had a similar situation. My merional injection squirted everywhere and hubby did not think much went in. So i rang the emergency number and they told me to inject again....

You have different medication however and it may be different as it sounds like half of yours went in. I'm sorry I'm not much help... I hope someone else has some better advice xxx

I haven't really any advice but try not to worry. I'm sure all be fine say they may just advise you to maybe up it a little tomorrow, or when you go for your next scan put it up, as long as you've got a little bit in that's better than none at all,

I had a nightmare with menopur when mixing and cetrocide it was getting the bloody lids off that ended in me stabbing my self, the first night of mixing the menopur the needle stabbed me then the plunger broke off and solution went everywhere, lucky I had another which I eventually did after having a mental meltdown lol,

Hopefully your get some answers

Thank you. I only have one more Menopur tomorrow and cetrocide 2 more. Glad I'm not the only one thats stabbed myself with drawing up needle 😂 bloody hurt too! Appreciate the reply thank you x x x

It bloody hurts don't it, must of done it 4 times. So EC must be super soon then. Try not to worry, even though i did and still am lol it's lot easier for me to give advice to others than listen to myself and do it haha xx

I love eggs I will be on menopur when I get started! I'm really hoping it's tomorrow, as AF arrived today and clinic closed I can't even 'book' in!

This happened to me although a different medication. I contacted the hospital and they advised me to take the same dose again (I suspected I got around half although wasn't sure as when I injected some went in and some was dripping out). They did tell me not to worry, so try not to 🙂 I'm sure it won't affect your treatment in any way. Xxx

I wouldn't worry too much as you still have the medicine I your system. Once you have phoned in the morning they will advise you. Good luck xx

Thank you all. I've spoken to a nurse at the clinic and she has reassured me not to worry and continue with last one tonight. She is checking with consultant this afternoon but been reassured fully . Thank you so much for your support all x
