I always book two weeks off but my job is quite a physical one. I think it depends on your job. I would definitely take the day of transfer off anyway. Good luck xx

I'm off work for the hole 2ww . I'm 5dp3dt with 2 embryos. No sure if it's a good thing being off or not . It's driving me mad waiting and also I'm getting really bad nausea and cramping . 😘

jupiter1234 profile image
jupiter1234β€’ in reply tonikki85xx

Good luck xx

Good luck today! I'm on 3dp5dt and I went back to work the next day. Other than cramps I felt ok and have an office job so sit on my bum all day. To be honest I couldn't stand being off as I'd be going insane and work is a distraction x

The only thing I worry about is that I'm stood up all day rushing around like crazy as work in a pharmacy x good luck

β€’ in reply tojupiter1234

My hospital just said no lifting or strenuous activity. If you're used to standing up all day you should be ok but you have to do whatever you think is best as you never want to be left with what if I'd done this what if I'd done that. Hopefully it will all work out fine and you won't need any what ifs πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ x

jupiter1234 profile image
jupiter1234β€’ in reply to

That's the thing isn't the what if I stayed off or what if I ate that it's rubbish lol xx

Cazo profile image
Cazoβ€’ in reply to

The things is, if it doesn't work you always have 'what ifs' anyway. Even if you sat on your bum doing nothing the whole time you'd then be thinking maybe I should've moved around more! I always thought no it's best to keep doing what your body is used to... within reason of course!

Hi I just took day of transfer off . Felt fine the next day so went to work as normal . I would say just take it easy over the next few days . Good luck with everything x

I took the two weeks off but next time I'd only take the week of transfer off or maybe just a couple of days. I found having too much time on my hands drove me up the wall. Good luck with your transfer and TWW Xxx

Good luck!! I took two days off and then straight back to working full time. Mind you, I do have a desk job, so knew I wouldn't be under any physical stress. Do what feels right for you.

The 2ww is crazy-making and I figured I would rather be active and at work than driving myself nuts at home πŸ˜‰

Hope it all goes smoothly xx

I thought about going back to work as I thought what will be will be but now I'm a bit like hmm maybe not as on my feet all day rushing around as work in a busy pharmacy xx

Hey, I am having my transfer this afternoon too. To be honest, I think there's not a huge amount you can do either way. If it's going to work it will and if it isn't going to work it won't!

The first round of IVF I had I went back to work after a couple of days, the second round of IVF I had I took two weeks off work and rested. Neither worked so this time I'm pretty much going to get on as normal, bar being a bit more careful as I have a very physical job (I am a personal trainer and fitness instructor so teach a lot of fitness classes)

Good luck! x

Best of luck.... I took a week or so after both transfers, definitely needed it after the first one as it was a fresh cycle and had a bit of OHSS xxxx

Hiya...I had my first FET yesterday. I took the day off but didn't spend the day with my feet up. We just had a nice lunch and went for a walk....nothing strenuous though. Then i went back to work today. I feel absolutely fine. But to be honest i work in an office most of the time so not physical. The nurse said it was ok to exercise too just nothing vigorous and no heavy lifting. When is your test day? Mines the 24th! Good luck!!! xxx

jupiter1234β€’ in reply toBluebelle1

I had mine this afternoon after k went to the shops but since then I've just watched films and ate cake and napped felt very tired. Not going back to work til Monday anyway but sometimes I wish I had a desk job as then k wouldn't really mind going back. Good luck mines is the 27th two weeks today:) had two embryos put back in this time so fingers crossed xxx

I took yesterday as holiday for my transfer then don't normally work Fridays at that gym anyway. I just have a spin class tonight at another gym so will just teach it but not really take part. Will make up some kind of injury or illness! Then back to work Monday morning which I am not looking forward to as I essentially work 7-7 on Mondays πŸ˜’

I don't have enough holiday to take the next two weeks off and haven't told work I'm having more IVF. I told them the last two times but we've just been taken over by a new company which I know won't be very understanding so I don't even want to mention it.

jupiter1234 profile image
jupiter1234β€’ in reply toCazo

Ah that's rubbish I hate it when people aren't understanding because I always think if it was them they'd do what is best for them. I've not told work either though just because don't want everyone to feel sorry for me. But Just rang docs as think going to get signed of for first week xxx

Cazo profile image
Cazoβ€’ in reply tojupiter1234

Well I'm not sure, they may well be understanding but as the company doesn't even pay sick leave I doubt they'll be giving time off to have IVF treatment! Also, having been through IVF twice before and another pregnancy I lost at 12 weeks, I just wanted to keep this one to myself so I don't constantly have people asking me how it's going etc. I've told a couple of people (my Mum and one or two close friends) but not many.

jupiter1234 profile image
jupiter1234β€’ in reply toCazo

My place doesn't pay sick leave either so rubbish. I completely understand though as this is my second round and I've only told a selected few xx

Hey, my transfer was on a Saturday, had bad cramps on the Sunday and went back to work on the Monday. I'm now wishing I had taken the 2 weeks off to properly rest and take it easy x

jupiter1234 profile image
jupiter1234β€’ in reply tocls37

I had the transfer this afternoon I've just been shopping and relaxed infront of the Tele.. I'm not due back to work til Monday but I'm not sure whether just to take a week off and go back the week after for the second bit. Do you have a stressful job?xxxx

cls37 profile image
cls37β€’ in reply tojupiter1234

I do and this week has been stressful! Stay at home if you can x

jupiter1234 profile image
jupiter1234β€’ in reply tocls37

I'd have to get signed off by doctor as my work won't let more then one person off at the time and it's holiday season.. I work in a busy pharmacy so as you can imagine it's pretty full on and angry people too xx

Hi Jupiter,

I took the 2 weeks off after transfer, as well as the week of retrieval. I did a self cert for the first week and my GP gave me a fit note for the following 2 weeks. I have a stressful job but mentally I just don't think I could have concentrated at work. I broke down in my GP appt and he instantly wrote me a note, giving me time off after my beta too just incase things don't go our way.

My big day is Monday, can't come quick enough!

I wish you all the luck in the world xx

I went back to work the next day. I'm a nurse on an elderly care ward so have a very physically demanding/stressful job and I am concerned about how this could effect things but I found that keeping busy made the 2ww slightly more bearable. You need to keep distracted or you drive yourself nuts overthinking it. Best of luck x

jupiter1234 profile image
jupiter1234β€’ in reply toICSI32

I completely agree keeping busy is good but being stressed at work im thinking isn't so good lol I have a lot of friends and family so I'm thinking maybe just taking the first week off and will make lots of plan instead. I can imagine your job is very demanding x
