NHS funding axed 😭

We have had a letter through after we were referred in April (after Months and months of tests and waiting), the letter says there is no funding after June 2017....our referral has missed the deadline by 11 days apparently. No warning, no notice, just a letter!!! Not even sure how to react, I'm shocked and sad....xxx

My husband has called consultant (who's away for 3 weeks) and also gone to GP, as a misreading on a result has cost us the delay of a year, and as it turns out, our funding! Sad times! Xxx

Oh my god this is outrageous. Which CCG are you covered by? Does it mean they've cut all IVF funding for everyone in your area?

I would recommend getting in touch with The Fertility Network via email and asking them for advice. I can't believe that there isn't more awareness about the cuts to IVF funding. It's appalling.

I'm so sorry it's affecting you directly like this. I don't know if you feel inclined or have the energy to post a petition on 38 degrees or a similar site? I'm sure all of us here would sign it.

Me and my partner literally just got on to our local IVF funding about 2 weeks before they closed all funding. We went to a meeting (before they decided to stop funding) with other couples that was either waiting to get on the list or already on the IVF list and it was completely heartbreaking. Talking to the people in charge from our local CCG who were there just because it was their jobs, but to us it is literally everything. It's disgusting how they have taken it away.. they told us that it cost them around £800,000 a year for funding IVF and I said well that's just an average house in London (not even a fancy one at that). The fact that they can take this opportunity from innocent and vulnerable people is something I will never be able to understand. I really hope you get things sorted and you get your chance x

This happened to me though not quite as bad....they changed it from 3 goes to 1 with no notice. We missed it by 10 days and that's only because I had to move an appointment due to work. If I'd known I'd never have changed it! (But they don't want you to know!) So sorry for you xxx

They must be kidding.

If they really f.cked up you can sue them and take some compensation with NHS funding.

This is just so awful, I'm so sorry to hear it.... how do u know which Ccg or assistive contraception unit does and doesn't have funding?
