Hey. When we had a meeting with our fertility consultant they indicated whether or not we met the criteria for nhs funding and the letter was a formality being accepted after we’d been to our patient information event. Xx

I think it depends on the area. Our GP refers to a local GP with special interests in fertility who then orders any extra tests and then goes through the application with you and she basically said we would get it and sends the referral to the CCG for approval.

You should be able to find your local guidelines and work out if you’ll get accepted x

I think each NHS area works differently. But with mine my doctor referred us to an NHS clinic. They sent me a questionnaire which I completed and returned, we got a letter about 3 weeks letter saying we had been accepted for funding x

We were told we were eligible by the consultant at the clinic, but our GP already gave us her opinion that we should get 2 cycles funded.

Good luck! 🍀

Seems quite different depending on where you are. We are 2.5 years down the line and have had every test under the sun, chosen a clinic and still waiting for CCG to make a decision... hope you get yours as quickly as the other ladies on the thread. X

I'm currently waiting on my NHS funding decision. My hospital consultant referred us for IVF last week and I'm waiting to hear back. I rang the IVF clinic directly to enquire about timelines and they said they would process the referal within 5 working days of receiving it. I should then receive a letter confirming decision shortly after. So im hoping to hear in the next few weeks. It has taken us 3 years to get to this point though X
