Hi everyone,
After my first follie check scan on Monday after 5 days of stimming, I have a few questions which I hope someone might be able to shed some light on.
Having taken dhea, ubiquinol coq10 and making loads of lifestyle changes I had hoped to have more than the 9 follies I had last time so when the nurse said "14" my heart leapt to think all my efforts had worked... then promptly sank when I realised she was referring to my follie sizes as there were 3 on one side measuring 14, 12 and 18mm, 2 15mm follies and 1 12 mm on the other side and another 5 between both ovaries measuring between 8 and 10mm.
After trying to be so positive and even knowing I should be really happy to have anything, I immediately thought the little ones were right offs so I've actually got less than last time and was gutted, though I've wised up a bit now and am hoping my lifestyle changes will have improved egg quality at least.
I expected a second scan on Wednesday like last time, particularly as I had some reasonably sized follies already and was ready for egg collection after 8 days last time but was offered a second scan on Friday = day 10 of stimming with a suggested egg collection on Monday?
My concerns are that the clinic seems overbooked this time round; are they giving people 5 day apart scans etc due to this as from what I've read, scans are typically at least every 3 days as it's important to monitor regularly?
At Monday's scan the nurse told me to continue with my merinol 300 stims, add the cetrotide from Monday and at scan 2 on Friday they hope my smaller follies have caught up but my question is, what happens to my larger follies? Can they grow too big to use or develop into cysts? What is a usable size range?
Sorry for the negative tone today everyone, I'm probably being paranoid and either need reassurance or a slap with a wet fish! Lol.😂.
Thanks in advance for any answers and best wishes for baby dust to all.
Big love xx
