I’m 39, first time fertility treatment, IVF + ICSI, long protocol. 7 follicles before starting treatment.
Have been on down reg drug Suprecur for 25 days now and stimulation drug Meriofert for 9 days.
Had my first scan following stimulation this morning. Not great news - 6 follicles were seen, 1 was 9mm and the rest were 6mm and they needed to be 15mm.
Next scan is on Wednesday. Potential egg collection was booked for Friday, which is looking unlikely - I don’t know if it’s possible for the follicles to grow in 2 days?
The nurse said they’ll see what happens on the next scan and take it from there. If follicles aren’t the right size they will keep me on the drugs for longer and see what happens.
Has anyone had any success with low follicle size at this stage?

We all respond differently, a few days can make all the difference. I always had to be on drugs for a bit longer to get follicles to right size. Be reassured that there are 6 follicles there. Fingers crossed! Xx
Try not to worry, 9 days is still quite short for stims. Lots of us stim for 13 or more days to get the best sizes. Best of luck for your next scan lovely🤞 xx
Thanks. That’s good to know, nurse didn’t mention that. They’re not so forthcoming with info and like to drip feed info when they’re ready to, not when asked. Best wishes to you too x
Are they thinking of increasing your dose of Meriofert? As Chel says you can definitely stay on stims for longer. They're meant to grow 4mm every two days but it's not an exact science, I've had different follicles grow anything from 0.5mm to 10mm in two days even in the same cycle! Xx
They didn’t say that but I (rightly or wrongly) assumed they would do on Wednesday if things weren’t looking any better. That’s really helpful to know. Thanks and best wishes x
