Hello! Has anyone had acupuncture as part of your IVF treatment and would you recommend it? xoxo
Acupuncture : Hello! Has anyone had... - Fertility Network UK
Acupuncture
i had TCM acupuncture for 3 months during the summer, but my hope was to get pregnant naturally & avoid IVF - but here i am almost 2 weeks into down-regulation!
i found it relaxing, but ultimately it didn't work for me. my practitioner recommended twice a week which was a big expense.
if you are having trouble "switching off" it's worth a shot.
i highly recommend the ivf belief hypnotherapy cd - it has turned me from an emotional wreck to a normal person in just a week - best £15 i ever spent!
good luck x
I definitely have trouble switching off but the expense is worrying me too! So I might try that CD! Thanks for the tip xxx
yeah - that's the one, there are 3 separate meditations for each stage of the process.
i can't tell you the positive impact it's had on me in such a short space of time.
good luck xx
I had acupuncture on my first cycle, around 6 sessions and got my BFP, unfortunately I lost him at 22 weeks but I started acupuncture again a few weeks back to get my cycle back to normal (which worked) and continuing until my next cycle in March, expensive but there's nothing I won't try!
I'm not sure if it works or not but don't think it does any harm and makes me feel like I'm doing something x
Hey I have had, unfortunately that didn't help us but I will start again this week because we hopeufully start our 3rd IVF cycle spring time. For me it is more to help relax than anything else but if your period is anyhow not regular, very painful etc I do recommend it, many people have got help from that. We suffer from male factor infertility so my husband started to have acupuncture also.
Hi, I have only recently started acupuncture, so cannot give any advise on whether it helps or not, but I feel like I'm doing something, so in a way that helps me.
Good luck and let me know how you find it if you decided to start.
xx
Hello,
I had acupuncture for my first round of ivf, and it didnt help me as my cycle was terminated, and i was told that the acupuncture would help regular the blood, relax me and help with the follicles but it didnt. my second time round i didnt have it and im now currently in my 2ww.
on the other hand one of my close friends did have it and it worked and gave her bfp and she is currently 6 months.
Its whats best for you, you can always start and then stop if need be xxx
I had 3 accupuncture sessions around my 1st ivf cycle but they were a poorly timed afterthought and a stressful rush to get to which somewhat negated the point. I did become pregnant from that cycle but miscarried at 6w+6d in October last year.
Since then, I've found a new, more local fertility Accupuncturist who I've been going to fortnightly which really benefits, certainly my emotional/psychological well - being, as for my fertility that remains to be seen.
However, I think that as this Accupuncturist seems so spiritual, nurturing and wise, I feel like I'm getting a mini counselling session and pearls of wisdom from her too which definitely helps.
It is expensive but I figure that my whole life style has changed in the last few years ttc- the money that I used to spend on party dresses and care free nights out/cocktails etc are now channeled toward making my body a pure, calm, healthy environment to welcome a baby into so if this may just help, for me it's worth a shot!
I quite like the sound of that CD too.
Hope you find whatever method works best for you and you get the positive outcome you're hoping for.
Luck and love xxx
I've been having acupuncture- I can't say I find it relaxing and don't actually enjoy it but she was recommended to me as being a fertility acupuncturist and is very sought after in my particular area and people travel from all around to go to her as she gets results. I've had 4 rounds of IVF and started acupuncture for the last 2 fets. Both resulted in pregnancy the first I unfortunately miscarried but I am now 13 weeks 2 days pregnant with the 4th go. I don't know if it's completely down to the acupuncture but the first 2 IVF cycles didn't take and it wasn't until having acupuncture that something happened. it is expensive and I am still having acupuncture but I don't know how long I will have it for tbh as it's pricey xxx
Firstly wishing you all the best in your journey, we wer reccomrnded to do this with a lady that specialises in fertility treatment.
We had been seeing her fur almost a year and atleast once a week ) both my wife and me), along with the treatment itself, we wer given herbs to take daily ( at first they wer horrid lol ( but we got use to it. We had our ET two weeks ago, and got a BFP yesterday.
We also saw a nutritionist, who had put on us both a medication, specifically again for fertility treatment. ( we didn't see her as often as we had a diet plan to stick too), all in all I'm glad we did it, I can only assume it benefited us both.
Best of luck and hope this helps.
