Hi There, has anyone tried acupuncture to increase fertility? I have recently had a few sessions, and afterwards I have had my first positive ovulation test in months? Coincidence? They seem really positive that they can help. I have had one failed IVF, but unexplained infertility issues. Anyone experienced similar?

I tried acupuncture when we were trying to conceive both naturally and with ivf. It didn't help us and we went on to have a baby through ivf without doing acupuncture. It is a very expensive therapy to do but if it helps you to achieve your goal then go for it. I wish you all the luck in the world xx

Hi, I am currently doing IVF. Just did my first injection - somehow it took an hour to make the Menopur drug up! Hopefully it will take me a lot less time tomorrow eve. I am doing acupuncture. I've heard it does increase the chances of a successful IVF but who knows. I really like my acupuncturist and find it a very relaxing hour. I had been having acupuncture to try and conceive naturally / get rid of a horrible chronic cough. My cough improved but obviously sadly not natural conception. Wishing you lots of success X

It didn't help with my fertility but I'm an older lady so had a lot against me.i spent a lot of money over a long period of time -worked out I could've financed another IVF session with what I spent! That said a lot of ladies feel it helped.i would say if uv ovulated for 1st time on it maybe give it a chance. Good luck xxx

When you say older, can I ask how old?

45 now but was doing acupuncture from late 30s until last year.i know it does good as it healed some other issues where results were a bit more tangible but no success with the fertility.x

I had unexplained infertility so I chose reflexology. I decided if medically there was nothing wrong, then a holistic approach would be a better and cheaper option than paying for IVF. She helped me to ovulate from both sides and cleared my tubes and balanced my hormones. My general physical and mental state was improved. I went on and off for 6 months ish and it helped me to get BFP. You need to seek out someone specialised in fertility good luck xx

Hi Mrsg, when you say she cleared your tubes do you mean they were blocked? Also, how do you know she helped you ovulate from both sides? I'd be interested in trying this if it can do such wonderful things.😊

Cazzie, I've been doing accupuncture for months and no bfp yet but it does seem to be good for my mental emotional state as it's very calming.

Good luck to all with the holistic approach, hope it helps. Xx 😊

No my tubes came back fine from my hospital test. Reflexology can diagnose all sorts from your feet it's pretty amazing and she just improved the 'flow' in my body. I never felt cramping on my right like I did from my left side prior to reflexology and I believe she just helped with all of that along with balancing my hormones. Read up on it it may not be for you. I believed in it but it's not for everyone this type of approach. My ladies success rate was excellent and enjoyed the relaxation at every session. NHS wouldn't help me so I sort my own solution and this worked for me xx

Oo, it sounds really beneficial and relaxing too! When I phoned the holistic centre originally to book accupuncture and reflexology I was told that reflexology wouldn't help fertility but accupuncture would. I was a bit disappointed at this but went with just the accupuncture. Maybe it needs to be a fertility reflexology specialist? I like the sound of it though!

Glad it helped you to your bfp too. Xx

Where are you based? I was recommended someone she was over an hour from my house but I didn't care. I would see a specialist in anything relating to fertility it's so hard to know what to do though and everyone will take your money. I believe in acupuncture too but I chose the other one. Acupuncture is expensive and I think both methods say to give it three months to reset your body. That seemed like an eternity to me at first. You will get your BFP you have no reason not to but the journey there is an emotional one that we all have/ had. I def have more grey hair now lol. Xx

Hi Cazzie. I too had unexplained infertility. I had 2 failed rounds of IVF and then conceived naturally (I'm 9 weeks pregnant now).

A lot of people, including my clinic were cynical about acupuncture but for me, it introduced me to a much healthier lifestyle. As well as the treatment itself, my acupuncturist looked at my diet and my husband's diet. I made lots of changes to my diet straightaway but it was only when he changed too that I fell pregnant.

I guess you could just make the dietary changes yourself without the acupuncture. I bought a book called It Starts With The Egg by Rebecca Fett which suggests some key changes to make.

Best of luck! 🍀🍀xx

I used Andover-acupuncture.co.uk but if you go on the Zita West website, they'll have a whole list of recommended practices. Good luck! Xx

I swear by it! I had a few issues with my first ivf and docs didn't think they could resolve them but my Accupunturist was confident and it made such a big difference! I'm now 15 weeks pregnant and would advise everyone to do it

Good luck

Here you go. Good luck

I've enjoyed my first two sessions with my acupuncturist. Just had Af and it was a day shorter than usual, don't know if that's related. Much worse pmt though... she has being doing something to get toxins out and release any 'block' I might have, and I think that could be why the pmt was worse. I'll ask her next time I go.
