Hello everyone. i just had a scan after day 5 of Gonal f, and i have about 18 follicles altogether. My IVF coordinator(nurse) said she was giving me a low dose since we are doing IVF because of my Husband`s vasectomy and my body is fine.
i am wondering if that number is okey on day 5 or i am not responding well to stims. They measure between 15mm and 20mm.

Hi, I don't know what size it should b but having 18 follicles are amazing...because in the last scan before egg collection the doctor said that I had about 5-6 follicles on each side n they got 15 eggs...good luck...
Thank you lovewinspain ans Emma-Jane. The nurse said its a very good response. I started Cetrotide yesterday and am continuing with Gonal f too. ER is scheduled for Saturday. I have had to cancel an examination as i need to travel. I guess its worth it.
Hi Stacia. Your follicle count is extremely good! Around 17-20mm for your leading follicle is great, so all is looking OK to me. Make sure you are drinking lots of water, just in case your ovaries produce more smaller ones too. Good luck with egg retrieval, and of course fertilisation - and the rest of the cycle. Diane
Thanks Diane. I am taking your advice and drinking lots of water. i am praying that i do not suffer from OHSS. ER is on Saturday and i am feeling very uncomfortable, and back pain is is making it worse. I am having a hard time sitting in my office.
Hi Stacia. Yes you need to be cautious here. Hopefully all will be well, but do keep up with the water, now and after egg collection. You can safely take paracetamol if you need to, but keep away from anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen. Just a few days until egg retrieval. Good luck and I shall be thinking of you. Diane
