it seems really hard to predict to me. I am 35 with unexplained infertility and have had 2 rounds in the last year, the first I got 8 eggs and 1 fertilised which I had back as a fresh 2day transfer (was doing acupuncture, reflexology, pineapple core etc, being really good). 2nd round they reduced the dosage of drugs but I ended up with 21 eggs out of which 4 made it to 5day blasts (not doing acupuncture, reflex and my good diet has gone out the window). Makes no sense to me, but no matter what you have no choice but to just go with it. Less eggs but good quality is much better than lots of eggs but poor quality. The nutrients from your body can only stretch so far so I think fewer is more natural and probably better Xx
i was 38 only had 1 egg and poor quality.... now on donor eggs
hey, I had 6 eggs last time round but then Im a bit older, havent had my second yet. Did the clinic give you any expectation from your AMH levels etc? When I asked mine, they said that mine was what they would expect. From reading other ladies stories, there can be quite big differences in cycles for some people!x
Hi KathrynKernow. Egg retrieval results is all down to hormone levels at the time. Collecting 6-7 eggs is not a bad result. We try and aim for around 10, but as long as the quality is good, then you're good to go. Hope all works out well for you if you do decide to have another try. Diane
