Ahhhrrrgggg! Tested early and BFN.

When I started the 2ww I thought 'this is the easiest bit so far'!! Ha how wrong am I! now at 8dp5dt I couldn't resist as the 2ww is sending me nuts.

Not really had any symptoms - been a bit more tired, few hot flushes, bit of cramping (feeling like AF on her way). The only very strange thing was on Saturday when there was a very small (grain of rice sized) blood clot after peeing on 6dp5dt - Was this the embie????

So the results: absolutely nothing - a very stark BFN. It's a no isn't it? How crap.

:(

Hi Dolly - I'm sorry to read this :( When is your OTD? Have you tested too early? x x x

I'd test again on Thursday as you never know. Thinking of you x

It could be a no, but I don't think it's an absolute bfn. You are early and I have seen people test early and it go on to be positive. Fingers crossed xx

Thanks. I've come to realise that I can handle a BFN - it's my first IVF cycle and I've been fine (emotionally) all the way through this TTC 3.5 year journey. It is the not knowing that is driving me mad. Since this post this morning, I've had a good chat with myself and come to the conclusion that testing this morning has just made my anxiety of this situation a hell of a lot worse. Will never test again early and would advise others to not test early too.

Thanks all. (in secret, my fingers are crossed too, thanks Daisy14)

Totally understand, the not knowing is agonising. I tested early, telling myself I was preparing myself, but it never helped. I only started to believe what I saw a day before OTD.

We are only human, be kind to yourself and here's hoping xx

Hi hun I met a lady at our clinic abroad, we've stayed in contact & her twins are due soon. She tested the day before her official test date & bfn... morning after a positive blood test. I would caution not to get your hopes up but there is still a chance & I'll keep my fingers crossed for you x

Thanks Poochi. I just really regret testing early - I just couldn't help myself. :(

Hi Dolly

I was exactly the same, the 2ww drove me nuts... I thought that would be the easy part but the waiting and not knowing was so hard. Unfortunately I started bleeding the day before test day so I knew it was over before test day. I tested on day 9 but it was a bfn I even blamed myself for testing early, the shock of seeing nothing I convinced myself that I brought the bleed on ( I know that's insane but my head was completely messed up)

You are a few days early and things can change, I've read that the hormone cannot be picked up until at the earliest 9 days post transfer so you never know... It could change.

Good luck and don't beat yourself up about testing early ...

Holly x

Try to stay positive there's no knowing whether things will change between now and then, I know I will also be tempted to test early when it's our turn in a few weeks (all being well...) so think I will just not buy any tests until it's time to avoid temptation! Rest up and take care xxx

Yes - exactly - don't buy them!!! Good luck. x

I heard that day 9 was the earliest to test so it may still be a positive. My OTD is also Thursday after a blastocyst transfer. I had some spotting today and mild tummy cramps so obviously its all doom and gloom and I think its all over. x

Thanks my dear. Yep I guess there is a chance. But if you are suggesting that I stay positive, you must too :) wishing you the very best of luck X

The earliest date you can test really is 14 days after EC. If you're 8dp5dt (13 days post EC) then it's too early to tell. What you can tell from your BFN today is that the HCG trigger is out of your system so any BFP now is real. My fingers and toes are crossed for you hun. Xx

So kind. Thanks. I will let you all know. Not doing another test till OTD Thursday. Baby dust to all and everyone who reads and comments on here. Your words to me yesterday really helped. I have a really supportive DH and family but sometimes they just can't quite understand. Thanks everyone. Xx
