5dpt5dt (FET) bfn :( Did I test too early? Anxious

Hi, feeling down and just looking for some inspiration! Part of me knows I tested early but I also feel like I have been having every pregnancy symptom for a few days now so just felt so positive it would be a BFP. I guess the symptoms could be from the progesterone oil injections. Thanks in advance

Hi there,

Yep, it’s way too early... step away from the pregnancy tests!

Some of the symptoms could well be from the meds that you are taking, although they could be pregnancy symptoms but there isn’t enough hormone in your body for the test to detect it.

I’m on day 6 of the longest 2ww ever, so feel your pain!

Wishing you lots of positive vibes for a BFP 💕 xx

Thanks Lou. :) My beta is Friday, so just need to make it through the next few days. I have 5 more pregnancy tests sitting in that drawer. I will have to test my willpower to the next level! Sending lots of positive vibes to you too. xx

I think it’s too early. I know it’s hard but to and wait until Otd. Many of the symptoms you are feeling are often related to the medication. Try and keep yourself busy in the mean time. Wishing you good luck xx

Hi,

I’m only 5 days late at the moment but have been 28 days regular my whole life and never been even a day late. I’ve take two HPTs and both negative and blood test from the doctor has come back negative. I’m just wondering what your outcome was as I’m just questioning if maybe it was too early to detect.

At five days late in a normal cycle you should be getting a positive pregnancy test if you are pregnant, especially on a blood test. However if you’ve been doing ivf then cycle lengths go out the window!

Not using ivf and normally have an extremely regular cycle hence the cofusion. Now 6 days late but no answers, unsure where to go from here..

I would just ask your doctor for another blood test.. just so you can move on one way or another. You should def be getting positives by now and could just be a late cycle. Stress, changes in diet, if you have been sick - lots can push your cycle back.

It’s not unusual to see ladies posting on here about unexpectedly late periods especially at emotional or anxious times. There is a drug I’ve read about on the endo uk site (sorry I don’t remember the name) that doctors can give you to bring on your period if you’re definitely not pregnant. Or maybe try a session of reflexology or acupuncture if you believe in alternative medicine? Good luck.

I agree with the others - it’s far too early to test yet. 9dp5dt is supposed to be the earliest you can test, although I have seen positives on here from day 7 using the most sensitive tests. Having said that I’ve also seen ladies on here get a BFN at 9dp5dt then go on to have a BFP on OTD so just goes to show that everyone is different.

Good luck and hope the rest of the 2ww doesn’t drive you too crazy!

It’s too early to test lovely, I got my bfp at the weekend (9dp5dt) but I was still getting bfn until 7dp5dt ....then I cried and put all of my tests in the sink and poured orange juice on them so I wouldn’t be able to use them anymore!! Hahaha. The best advice I had regarding early tests was from my doctor who said that the clinic test as soon as they are sure the result is reliable....the soonest that they say is 9dp5dt via blood test. If they could test earlier then they would, so try not to test too early. Xxx

I think I’ll do the orange juice on the tests today. Thank you this is very encouraging. Congrats on your bfp :)

Too early! Hang in there. There’s a reason why we’re given an otd and told not to test early. Good luck for the day 🍀 xx

The progesterone definitely has lots of side effects that are similar to early pregnancy symptoms. Hang in there for the rest of the 2ww and try to do things that will occupy your mind as much as possible xx

The symptoms could well be the progesterone, but you definitely tested too early. My friend’s bfp line on her actual test day after an fet was so faint that the clinic wouldn’t accept it till she had a stronger one the next day- she’s now 20wks pregnant. Try to hold out till test day and good luck x

I have to agree with all of the above it’s just too early.. I’m 3dp5dt and have another 11 days of waiting for OTD. I won’t be testing early but purely because I can’t bear to see another negative test unless it’s a definite one and I can try get my head around it! Wishing you lots of luck - maybe try distract yourself and keep busy?? Best of luck xx

Thanks everyone. I had my ODT/Beta test today and got a BFP!! Long road ahead. I have had 3 early miscarriages and a pre-term labor at 23 weeks where my son did not make it in October 2016. But after a year of just BFN, one after the next, this is our first BFP. On the right foot for our rainbow baby.
