Hello everyone,

Just discovered this Network today. I am new to the IVF process; Have my initial appointment in September after being referred in March. My partner has extremely mild CF so required sperm retrieval and IVF. We are very fortunate in that we have always known so I imagine this makes things a little less stressful initially but I am still nervous.

Any advise/ tips would be so helpful! I am very positive about this but the unknown is a little daunting right now.

Hi j2119! I myself have my first ivf appointment in September! We might be cycle buddies lol. Have you had any treatment prior to this or are you moving straight to ivf x

I have had 2 failed iui treatments so I am hoping this is 3rd time lucky for me! It's my first ivf but I guess the only difference for me is that I haven't had egg collection before but the injections and scans will be the same. I was a nervous reck when I first went through this but I have learnt that I need to be pacient! Have you started taking pregncare? X

I remember feeling overwhelmed and anxious about going for our first few appointments. I found the nurse had more time to explain things than the consultant. She went through the treatment plan and reassured me about the injections. You soon get used to injections and scans.

This forum is really helpful and supportive. I wish I'd known about it before our first consultation.

I really hope that you get a BFP (big fat positive) and wish you and your partner all the best.

Welcome to the group, there is lots of support and kindness here.

I've been through two cycles of IVF and it is nowhere near as daunting if you take one step at a time. It is exciting too, I remember feeling a real mixture of things when I started.

Wishing you lots of luck x
