After our 2nd failed cycle I had numerous blood tests and tested positive for MTHFR. As part of this I've been prescribed a higher dosage of folic acid and Cytocon (b12) for 3months prior to next cycle.
The folic acid, my doctor prescribed at normal prescriptions prices but the Cytocon has to be on a private prescription and it costs a fortune- £12.50 for 50 tabs and I need be taking 3 a day for 3months!
Can anyone recommend an alternative? IVF is already costing a small fortune without these extra tablets.
Good luck to you all. Xx

Hi boothy1883. Strange if you have been diagnosed with a low B12 that you are not having injections?? They would be on the NHS - best to check this out with your GPand good luck! Diane
I also get the B12 injection every 3 months on the NHS. I did what they call 'the schilling test' which is basically storing your wee in a bottle for 24 hours so they can test it.
I get this every 3 months and it's called Hydroxocabalamin. I do know there is a tablet form but this doesnt get prescribed on the NHS due to the cost.
