Hey ladies, I recently had a hysterscopy & laparoscopy where some mild endometriosis was treated. Has anyone had experience with the same and did your periods go back to normal afterwards or any issues? Xx

Hi,

I had a hystercopy and Laparoscopy last october with they got rid of a fibroid and mild endo. My period was a week late, but apart from that, it got back to normal . .the plus point is after having this, my periods went to 2-3 days instead of 10 days and were less painful. How late are you?

Hope your period gets back to normal

Thanks hun. Periods were screwed up before I had it from 2 fets last year I think...so don't know where I am at all! Although had a light bleed a few days after the op so not sure if that classes as a period 😕. Good to hear it's helped your periods get easier. The gynae said it may help with fertility but can't be sure! Thanks for your reply xxx

I had light bleed after procedures too, its nothing to worry about. Thats pretty normal ! Its not your period, don't worry your periods should get back to normal once you have healed from surgery x

Hi I'm waiting for my hysteroscopy app to come through .

They had to stop treatment as even though I had down regulated my lining was gettingbthicker not thinner .

Would you know what they are looking for ? They mentioned pre cancerous cells, but I'm not worried anymore re that as my app they said would be six weeks. So if it was urgent then I'd have been seen.

Thank you x

Hi when I had mine, they didn't know what it was, just something they had seen, when they did the transvaginal scan. The hysterscopy lets them look in more detail and they are normally checking for cancerous cells, polyps or fibroids. I had a 2 week wait appointment as they didn't know what it was. As they have gave you a 6 week appointment, I'm guessing they have a good idea and its nothing they have to deal with urgently. Try not to worry, all will be fine x

Hysteroscopy for me was to check the womb out more closely and laparoscopy was to check for Endometriosis outside of the womb. As I was having quite a bit of spotting and bleeding in between periods and painful periods. Hope all goes well, I'm sure it will xx
