Hi ladies
Just had meds delivered to start injections Next week on menopur and buserelin oh my word there's so much stuff 🙈I also have a menopur powder got teach me lesson on Thursday morning as start Thursday evening x
Good luck it's not as bad as it seems once you get started xx
I'm so needle phobic even tho I see needles everyday at work the thought of doing it to myself is daunting!! And some of the needles look long and thick and the others are short and thin which they don't look so bad!!! I'm so nervous got appointment Thursday morning to go through it ready to start Thursday evening xx
It will make sense after your teach. It's really not bad at all just becomes part of your routine xx
It really is not too bad at all, Im on nasal spray and finish injections tomorrow. We had a teach from nurse but was quite a while away to i started injections. Check out menopur.co.uk/menopur they have videos online on how to prepare step by step. I followed it and very easy to do the make up for injections. Good luck xx
Thank you I will have look at that that's what I worried about the make up and im sure once the first one is done I'll be fine x
Which injections are you on hope 84? The bigger needles will most likely be for mixing and the smaller ones for actually injecting yourself. After the first one it gets easier everytime. I was totally needle phobic when I started and now whilst I still don't like them I am injecting 2 a day easily. Try to relax when you're doing it, sit down rather than standing up, if you can breathe out when you put the needle in as it relaxes you, pinch a good inch of tummy fat anywhere on the line underneath your belly button (but not directly under as that bloody hurts). I went underneath and the right or left. Then inject alternate injections on alternate sides. So I have cetrotide in the mornings and inject Gonal F in the evenings on the opposite side. Then the cetrotide the following morning would go in the same side as the Gonal F did etc. If you do it slowly it doesn't hurt as much and when you're actually injecting the needle release your pinch a little as that the needle doesn't have as much resistance. When you're pushing the liquid in release your pinch almost completely and wait 10 seconds after putting the liquid in before removing the needle (slowly) so it has all dispersed. Wipe any liquid with an alcohol wipe and keep everything inclouding your hands and tummy clean during the whole process. They say its better if you can do it to yourself rather than your partner do it for you but do what works for you.
Remember what it is all for at the end and that will keep you on track. Ask your partner to help set things up and take some notes when you get the talk through. I hope this helps. Best of luck. Xx
